Sub: Application for the post of Research Associate at Brac Institute of Governance and
Development (BIGD).

Dear Sir/Madam
I’m sending this letter in response to your advertisement for a vacant position of Research
Associate at Brac Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University for the
Governance and Development cluster. I want to offer myself as a candidate for the same.
I have completed my Masters (2019) from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research,
University of Dhaka and was pursuing the career of a researcher in any reputed national
organization. My most recent research affiliation was Research Internship with Power and
Participation Research Centre (PPRC), in which capacity I had the privilege to participate in and
to contribute to necessary desk and field research in the research project titled The Impact of
Covid-19 on Livelihoods, Coping, and Support jointly undertaken by BIGD & PPRC. Earlier on,
I was involved (2019) in a national mega research project titled Padma Multipurpose Bridge
Project: Impacts on lives and livelihoods of project-affected people jointly undertaken by
Bangladesh Bridge authority and the University of Dhaka. My responsibilities there as a team
leader include monitoring and managing the data collected thereon and assisting in preparing the
final report. The experiences of these projects have enriched my knowledge and skills in the
relevant field of research and data collection process.

Moreover, my participation in various research-training and extensive experiences of managing

hundreds of public lectures and knowledge events organized under the auspices of Reading Club
Trust, a non-profit organization in Dhaka University campus, would be accelerating for my
research management skills. I believe that the opportunity to be associated with BIGD as a
research associate will be greatly rewarding for me. Therefore, I humbly request you to consider
