 Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women (VCEW) was started in the year 2001 by the auspices
of “Angammal Educational Trust” and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi,
Affiliated to Anna University - Chennai, Accredited by NAAC. UGC granted Autonomous status in the year
2012.
The institute offering 5 U.G. Engineering Degree Programmes (CSE, IT, ECE, EEE & BT), 5 P.G.
Engineering Degree programmes (CSE, IT, Power Systems Engineering, Applied Electronics and VLSI Design)
with an annual intake of 636. In addition to this, our institution offers 2 research programmes in CSE & EEE
(Approved research center of Anna University- Chennai for doing M.S / Ph.D research programmes).

Adding feather to the crown, all of our UG
programmes and M.E., CSE got the permanent
affiliation from Anna University - Chennai. Our
Institution is accredited by NAAC, TCS and also
certified by ISO 9001 - 2008.
Our College has been selected among “TOP 20 PROMISING
EDUCATION INSTITUTES IN TAMILNADU - 2018” by Higher
Education magazine.

AUTONOMOUS STATUS
Relative Grading System is followed only
by reputed foreign universities. Our college
which follows Relative Grading System among all
the Autonomous colleges in Tamilnadu, for better
assessment of our students in order to meet the
global competition. Our curricula and syllabi are
based on IITs curricula and syllabi.
We introduced CBCS (Choice Based
Credit System) from the academic year 2015-
2016.
The CBCS provides choice for students to
select the courses from Humanities and Social
Sciences, Basic Sciences, Engineering Sciences,
Professional Core, Professional Electives, Open
Elective and Enhanced Employability Courses.
The most remarkable achievement under
our autonomy is that we have regularly revised
and updated curricula and syllabi as per
requirements of industries.
