Notice

Important Information regarding Post Graduation examination in the Medical Faculty

Acting upon its earlier decision of Executive Committee vide letter no MCI-
23(1)/2014/Med/153433 dated 28.01.2015 and subsequent letter no. MCI-
23(1)/2014/Med/157716 dated 11.02.2015, Medical Council of India has now notified in
its official gazette vide no. MCI-18(1)/2018-Med./100818 dated 5.4.2018. The clause 10
of the said gazette notification is reproduced as under:

Clause 14 under the heading under the heading “EXAMINATION” of the


“Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000”, following shall be substituted as
under:-
Obtaining a minimum of 40% marks in each theory paper and not less than 50%
cumulatively in all the four papers for degree examination and three papers in diploma
examination. Obtaining of 50% of marks in Practical examination shall be mandatory for
passing the examination as a whole in the said degree/diploma examination as the case
may be.

This is for the information and clarification in this regard for the students that the
theory and practical examinations to be conducted by the Baba Farid University of
Health Sciences, Faridkot for the Post Graduate courses (MD/MS/PG Diploma) in all
broad specialties from May-June 2018 session onwards shall have this regulation strictly
in place. Candidates are thus requested to prepare themselves for the examinations for
session May-June 2018 onwards with clarity in this regard.
