Terminology Meaning
Radius The distance from the centre to the circumference.
Tangent A line that touches the circumference at one point.
Segment The area enclosed by a chord and arc.
Centre The centre of a circle.
Circumference The distance around the edge of a circle
Arc A fraction of the circumference
Diameter The width of a circle that passes through the centre.
Chord A line joining two points on the circumference.
Sector A fraction of a circle between two radii and an arc.
