The Causes of Traffic Accidents
How many times have you heard about the causes of accidents? Have you taken them into
account? Traffic accident is one of the major problems in society. The causes of this accident are
really different ways. Many people used to have traffic accidents, and they found out the reason
why they had accidents; that is the thing we need to know. Therefore, there are three factors
causing traffic accidents and we will discuss these as the follow:
First, traffic accidents are caused by humans. Some people get drunk and drive so it easily has
accidents as the saying “if you drink, don’t drive and if you drive, don’t drink”. Some are careless
during driving or riding such as listening to music, talking on the phone, playing Facebook, and
paying no attention to where they are going. Especially, they don’t adhere to morality and
understanding each other. Another thing is that they over speed and don’t respect the traffic lights,
sings, or traffic rules. Also, vehicles are overloaded and they try to compete each other. Therefore,
we must be careful with the above activities to avoid traffic accidents.
Second, traffic accidents are caused by vehicles. Some vehicles are too old and it is difficult to
drive as their lights, brakes, wing mirrors, and tires are not good in all conditions. And the steering
wheel which has problem and it is hard to order during traveling. Furthermore, some vehicles are
added surplus things which also cause difficult driving as it is not standardized. So we must check
our vehicles properly before we go anywhere.
Third, traffic accidents are caused by roads and natural disasters. Roads are bumpy, narrow,
busy, up and down, and bending, and they are difficult to use for driving or riding. Roads are not
equipped with enough traffic lights or traffic signs and some roads which have a lot of animals
coming across are not easy to travel. Moreover, accidents caused by the weather as it foggy, rainy,
too hot and too cold so on. One more thing is caused by storm, thunder and lightning as well.
Totally, the two reasons above are really related and caused traffic accidents.
In conclusion, the causes of traffic accidents are related to humans, vehicles, roads, and
weather. All these are the reasons why people have accidents and they also affect people’s life in all
aspects. Therefore, I hope that all travellers must pay much more attention to traffic before and
during their traveling to escape from the accidents.

LINKING WORDS and PHRASES

Linking words and phrases in English (also called 'connective' or 'transition' words) are used to
combine two clauses or sentences presenting contrast, comparison, condition, supposition, purpose,
etc.
They enable us to establish clear connections between ideas.

Most linking words can either connect clauses within a sentence, or start a sentence to form
a link with the previous statement.

Note: A clause is a group of words that includes a subject and a verb.

The following sentence contains two clauses:

Below you will find some examples of linking words and how to use them. This is not a
comprehensive list.
You may want to add your own linking words and phrases.
