OUTDOOR SHOOT

• Outdoor shoot means shooting anywhere outside the studio.


• A small setup is done at the location for the shoot.
• An OB van must be available at the location of an outdoor shoot to monitor the shoot.
• Sometimes there is just a camera linked to a van which relays the signals back to the
network center. Other times there is a massive infrastructure with many cameras and
almost everything is replicated from a base TV studio.
• Before shooting, a recce of the location is done.
• A shooting plan indicating camera positions and possible shot selection from each position is prepared.
• The position of the OB Van, transmitter, generator sets, and other vehicles is pre-decided.
• Double check for shooting permission from various authorities.

• A mobile outdoor broadcasting OB van .
• Video switches.
• BOOM mic- it reduces noise
• Lights
• Reflector
CHALLENGES FACED DURING AN
OUTDOOR SHOOT
• Weather plays a crucial role. If it rains, it can destroy the equipment and shooting can be
difficult.
• Lights can not be controlled in an outdoor environment.
• Presence of a crowd or an audience can cause some chaos.
• Limited technical support.
• Time constraint
INDOOR SHOOT

• Roles And Responsibilities :-


• Assignment desk- responsible for gathering news.
• Reporter- news coverage.
• Producer- writing and editing .
• Rundown producer- arranging a rundown .
• Panel producer- handle the PCR and give command to studio.
• Anchor- presenter in front of camera.
ADVANTAGES OF INDOOR SHOOT

• Indoor shoots are done within the studio.


• The shoot is done in a controlled environment.
• It is pre-planned therefore everyone is ready.
• Studio has a full technical backup.
• Editorial support during a breaking news situation.
• Controlling light and sound is easier.
• The environment is familiar to the anchor and others, it counts as an advantage.
