• Serving Grades 6-8

• The sole middle school setting for the community of


Madison.
Mission & Vision
Madison Junior School

• Our aim is to develop life-long learners who are


informed, responsible, and productive young citizens. We
do this by providing challenging and diverse programs
that reflect high expectations of a caring environment.
Opportunities abound to learn effectively, to think
critically, and to participate wholeheartedly both in the
classroom and in extracurricular opportunities.

• Incorporate interdisciplinary curriculum and activities


whenever possible in the junior school setting.

• Encourage the divergent thinking model to harness and


expand upon critical thinking skills.

• Provide students with ample extracurricular teams, clubs,


and support to meet specific and individual needs.

• Encourage students to express their individuality as well


as accepting other’s individualities.

• Promote safe learning, exploring, and social


environments/interactions in school and beyond.

• Promote high-character quality building into school wide


activities and experiences.

• Continuously improve educational and management


materials to enhance student and teacher performance.

• Aim to incorporate the community of Madison into as


many aspects fo the educational process as possible to
make positive connections between the school and
community.

• Stay true to the mission and vision in providing


opportunities for a variety of learners to improve and
accomplish success in and out of the classroom.

• Communication Strategy 1

• I would work to communicate the mission and vision to the


school staff through various methods. I would utilize
beginning of the year PD, staff meetings, daily
conversations, as well as through weekly memos sent out to
the staff.

• Setting a solid foundation of what the mission and vision is


will help the staff understand the meaning behind the
message. Getting the support of the staff is critical in crating
a positive work/learning environment for the school as they
work directly with the students on a daily basis.

• Communication Strategy 2

• Along with communicating the mission and vision to the staff,


communicating these ideas to the families and community of
Madison is equally as important. I would accomplish this task by
utilizing Back to School Night, school introductions, weekly
memos sent home to families, as well as in parent conferences.

• Making families and the community know that our top priority is
to educate, grow, and develop our middle school students into
productive members of the community is essential. The
connection and trust built with the families and the community
will show to be paramount in sustaining a positive school culture
supported by the mission and vision.
Rationale
Madison Junior School

• As per the first strategy, communicating the missions and


vision to the school staff is essential.

• Making sure that the staff understands the meaning of


what is being done and why it is being done is crucial to
total school success.

• This will also create a team like bond to build and develop
trust between the staff and administration.

• As per the second strategy, communicating the mission


and vision to the families and community is greatly
important to promoting a positive school culture.

• Ensuring the families and community that the the


students best interest is the utmost importance will go a
long way in creating a strong bond.

• Displaying this outreach will show the importance of


learning inside and out of the classroom.
