It has been the general practice to send the final year diploma students for 6 months
mandatory industrial training as per C-16 curriculum either in 5th or in 6th semester in
accordance with the ref (1) cited above. However in view of Covid19 scenario in order to
secure the students from losing their semester/academic year it has been decided to send all
the students for industrial training in the 5th semester itself.
Therefore all the Principals of Polytechnics (Government/Aided/Private/II Shift in
Engineering colleges) in the State of Andhra Pradesh are hereby instructed to arrange and
send all their final year students at a time in the 5th semester itself,ie. from 01/07/2020and
also to secure the indemnity bonds from the parents of each student before sending the
students for industrial training.
Further, according to AICTE norms it is mandatory that every student must be
covered by insurance for three years of study. The insurance may be done in specific with
Government of India enterprises for a period of three years. The insurance coverage must be
both for life, medical coverage and disability coverage. If the Polytechnics have not done so,
the District coordinating Principals are instructed to direct all the principals in the district to
do so before the commencement of industrial training.
All the District coordinating Principals are requested to organize industrial training
to all their final year students of their concerned District at a time in 5th semester only and
issue Industrial training proceedings accordingly on or before 29/06/2020. The details of
students mapped to industries for industrial training should be registered in immediately
