Hello, everyone. I am Francheska Yzrael G.

Forto from the section A-114 and I am here to discuss my

synthesis about my subject Understanding the Self. Before I start, I want to first appreciate this subject for
it helps me so much to identify my psychological self. It really boosts my understanding about my real
image and who I really am. And without further ado, let’s get started.

One of the philosophical perspectives that really moved me is “KNOW THYSELF”. According to my
research, Socrates quoted “to Know Thyself is the beginning of wisdom.” He pointed out that if an
individual knows who he or she is, all the basic issues and difficulties in life will vanish and everything will
be clearer. Meaning, you must discern and acknowledge your identity, capacity, ability and intelligence.
You should be aware of yourself and have insights to know which values and goals activate your
willpower. Personally, it came to my cognizance that Socrates is right. For instances, if you know how
capable you are of something, you will be confident enough to show and use it on certain things. You can
also be a channel of blessing to some areas which could help you maintain your self-confidence.
