Task I

The map shows the development which took place in Ashford after 10 years since 2010.

As can be seen from the map, in 2010, Ashford is a less-developed remote area with a
few shabby houses. Over the period, the place was transformed into a harbour town and a
tourist attraction with a whole marina and more high-rise buildings.

In 2010, ferry was still the main means of travelling of people in Ashford. Then, a bridge
was built connecting the two sides of River Tam and marina appeared in the south of the river.

On the northeast corner, more skyscrapers were constructed. A south pathway was
formed to connect the residential area with the yatch marina. Ashford has become a greener
area with more trees being planted to the southwest.
