Focus:
Catering for all learners
Managing the classroom and behaviour management
Notes:
Good seating positions for the students for the upcoming fortnight. Only spot you need to keep an
eye on is [student] and [student] – Sometimes there is a few issues there. And maybe [student]
and [student] – may be a bit chatty
Outlined the plan for the lesson – including extension tasks for those who needed it.
A majority of the students seemed quite interested in completing this worksheet, especially
[student], [student] and [student], it will be interesting to see if they can complete it during the
lesson
You are helping the students who need the most help in the class - [student], [student], [student],
[student] and [student]. Di (SSO) is working with [student].
Don’t forget about [student]. He will sit there all lesson and do nothing if you let him. Setting him
some mini goals about completing 2 questions before you get back is a good way to get him
moving.
[student], [student], [student] and [student] are powering through the questions, they may finish
this task quite quickly.
You have got [student], [student], [student], [student] and [student] very focused on the work,
which is rare to see them do in maths, they are obviously very interested in this topic, well done.
Some students are starting to finish so you may need to assist them with moving onto the
extension task. You have done this timely, well done.
There is quite a lot of chatter about football, but a majority of the students are doing this while still
being on task which is great to see
[student] and [student] have finished the extension task and you have given them some free time
to finish their English assignments which is a good substitute, but I would prefer you had some
additional work, so they spend the whole lesson on Maths. This is something I will discuss with you
** This was a great engaging lesson. I liked that you were able to identify the AFL bias in the class and
prepare work around this topic, which was great, it kept the whole class thoroughly engaged. You engaged
[student] well after a shaky start, you need to get on top of this quickly in future lessons, but you did
handle it well. [student], [student] and [student] were kept on task for the whole lesson which was rare to
see. I would like to see you try and create more lessons based around interest to attain this level of
concentration from them again, this will make behaviour management with them easier in the future.
