Description
NOVA-A is a rectangular aluminium diffusion grille with Design

The NOVA-A diffusion grille is manufactured from

first row. The blades’ axial pitch is 20 mm.
• NOVA-R1, -R2, -R3, -R4 – dampers
• NOVA-UR – mounting frame
• ODEN – plenum box
• PB-NOVA – plenum box

Mounting
The NOVA-A diffusion grille can be mounted directly onto
a rectangular duct using countersunk screws (type “1“
mounting), or onto a wall using a mounting frame and
spring clips (type “2“ mounting + UR) and, if appropriate,
it can also be placed onto a wall and a ceiling using a
mounting frame and a safety mounting mechanism (type
“3“ mounting).
The type “3” safety mounting mechanism consists of a
ratchet/spring combination which enables the fixing of
the grille by sliding it into the mounting frame with no
tools required. To detach the grille from the frame the
ratchet springs shall be one by one pressed by a flat
screwdriver towards the grille body pulling the grille out
of the frame.

IMPORTANT: For fixing type “3” the size of the installation opening for
the mounting frame must be exactly according to the specification in
this document (H x L dimension in the dimensions table). The mounting
frame after installation must not be deformed by external forces (like
by mounting into improperly formed and sized installation opening, etc.)
For sufficient safety the grilles with more than 4 fixing type “3” spring
ratchets are equipped by 2 chains. These must be fixed to the adjacent
rigid building structure.

NOTE: for mounting type “1” it is recommended

to reduce the cut-out height dimension “H” by 10mm.
This helps fixing the grille in proper position.

Description Design
NOVA-L is a rectangular aluminium grille with one or Material used:
two rows of blades. The first row is always fixed, the The NOVA-L grille is manufactured from aluminium
second is adjustable. The NOVA-L grille is adequate for profiles with eloxal coating or, if appropriate, a powder-
usage in such premises that require a higher emphasis lacquered (RAL 9010 - white) surface finish; other RAL
on appearance and is designed for air supply and air types are available upon request.
extract. If needed, the grille can be split into several
parts and installed in a continuous line of linear grilles. Type of blades:

row of blades is always perpendicular to the first row. The

• NOVA-R1, -R2, -R3, -R4 – dampers type “4“ with an axial pitch 20 mm.
• NOVA-UR – mounting frame
• ODEN – plenum box
L + 30
• PB-NOVA – plenum box
H + 30

Mounting
The NOVA-L grille can be mounted directly onto a Version 0 (max. L = 1225)
rectangular duct using countersunk screws (type “1“ L + 30
mounting), onto a wall using a mounting frame and spring L1 + 15 L1 + 15
clips (type “2“ mounting + UR) or, if appropriate, it can also
be placed onto a wall and a ceiling using a mounting frame
and a safety mounting mechanism (type “3“ mounting).
H + 30

The type “3” safety mounting mechanism consists of a

ratchet/spring combination which enables the fixing of Version E + E (max. L = 4000)
the grille by sliding it into the mounting frame with no L + 30
tools required. To detach the grille from the frame the L1 + 15 i × 2000 * L1 + 15

ratchet springs shall be one by one pressed by a flat

screwdriver towards the grille body pulling the grille out
H + 30

of the frame.

IMPORTANT: For fixing type “3” the size of the installation opening for
the mounting frame must be exactly according to the specification in Version E + i × M + E (L > 4000)

this document (H x L dimension in the dimensions table). The mounting

frame after installation must not be deformed by external forces (like
by mounting into improperly formed and sized installation opening, etc.) 3

For sufficient safety the grilles with more than 4 fixing type “3” spring
L1: Modulus length according to Table 9
ratchets are equipped by 2 chains. These must be fixed to the adjacent
(L1 = (L - i × 2000 *) / 2)
rigid building structure. * Applicable only for blade types “1“ and “3“; for blade types “2“ and “4“ use i × 1000;
for double-row with blade type “1“ including a damper use i × 1225
NOTE: for mounting type “1” it is recommended
to reduce the cut-out height dimension “H” by 10mm. Fig. 7: Grille types based on their length
This helps fixing the grille in proper position.

The minimum distance between two grilles Corrections

If two grilles are installed in a close distance to each Diagram 6 is applicable for a single-row grille, the blades’
other, this can lead to a change in the air flow. To prevent axial pitch being 12,5 mm, horizontal air flow direction
this situation it is necessary to respect the minimum with a ceiling effect at H = 0,2 m and Δt0 = 0°C. In case
distance B, calculated as a multiple of the air flow throw the positioning is changed, the respective diagram

the velocity vl (m/s) and the temperature difference Δtl necessary to rectify the parameters by the coefficients
in the air flow throw by the coefficient listed in Table 12. mentioned below.
The air flow throw is l = constant.

A change in the distance between the grille and the

ceiling also causes a change in velocity vl (m/s) and the
temperature difference between the supplied air and the
room air Δtl /Δt0 in the air flow throw and it is necessary
to multiply these values by the coefficients listed in Table

NOVA-F
An Aluminium Non-Transparent Grille with a G4 Filter

Mounting
The NOVA-F grille can be mounted directly onto a
rectangular duct or onto a wall using the screws in the
steel box openings. The grille is fixed to the box with
hinges and can be safely closed using a turning knob, or

Description vA (m/s)

Diagram 14: Pressure losses of the filter in a clean condition

NOVA-G4 is a filter which serves for separation of dust
particles from the air supplied by the NOVA-F grille,
which it is intended for. Its mean separability (Am) is
92.5% and temperature resistance is up to 100°C.

Maintenance
The filter retains dust particles and needs exchange after
a certain time. The indicator for the need of exchange is
a pressure loss increase of 200 Pa or an apparent filter
contamination.
The contamination check or the filter exchange can be
performed by simply opening the grille.

Material Used
The NOVA-G4 filter is manufactured from polyester in the
form of a white non-woven textle fabric. Its thickness is
12 – 15 mm..

The adjustment of the requested air flow is done by a
closing perforated damper with plastic tubes for pressure
loss measuring (ZEUS damper – please see page 43).
It is possible to adjust the damper manually without
demounting the grille or the plenum box.

Design
The ODEN plenum box is manufactured from a
galvanized steel sheet with a front, lateral or upper side
round fixing with a rubber sealing.

PB-NOVA Plenum Boxes

Description
NOVA - Accessories

PB-NOVA is a plenum box intended for both air supply

and air extract. It can be used along with the NOVA
series grilles for the supply air flow velocity reduction
and a better distribution (optimalizing) of the air flow
through the grille. It also serves as a silencer as well as
for connecting the grille to a VZT distributing system.
As an optional plenum box component there is a mesh
screen which can improve the air flow distribution
