My name is Jhony alberto melendez cavadia, engineering study of systems at the
university of cordoba, seventh semester course and today I come to describe a film that I found very interesting. My favorite movie is “The conjuring”. It is a 2013 American horror film directed by James Wan and starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as parapsychologists Lorraine and Ed Warren. The film is based on a case inspired by reality, it is also a completely scary film, it originates from a farm, where a family begins to witness paranormal phenomena. In 1971, Roger and Carolyn Perron are a marriage that moves with their five daughters to a farm in Harrisville. The first day as owners turns out to be idyllic except for the strange behavior of their dog Sadie, who refuses to enter and begins barking; on the other hand, one of the daughters inadvertently breaks a plank on the wall and they discover a basement and one of the daughters (the youngest) finds a strange musical box. The next morning strange things begin to happen: Carolyn gets up with bruises on his arms and legs and Sadie appears dead in the backyard. After the next few days, the phenomena begin to manifest more strongly, as an example: all the clocks stop at 03:07 h. and she begins to hear strange noises (such as slapping and laughter) coming from the basement, in which Carolyn is locked up with no chance of leaving, since no one hears her screaming and her husband had left for Florida. Just then, Andrea sees her sister Cindy seem to have a kind of sleepwalking until she becomes horrified that above the closet is a spirit that assaults her. After the events, Carolyn manages to contact Ed and Lorraine Warren, two parapsychologists who are asked for help with the "strength" that threatens their life and that of their family. After accepting enchantment, they begin an investigation to gather evidence that the house may be possessed in case an exorcism is necessary, subject to the authorization of the church. While investigating the property's past, the couple discovers that long ago, the house belonged to Bathsheba, a woman accused of witchcraft during the 18th century and who offered the devil his son as a sacrifice before hanging himself after cursing anyone who entered his property, which had an area of 200 acres until the land was divided into small plots , in which events such as murders and suicides also occurred. Eventually the Perrons decide to leave for a motel while the Warrens finish the investigation and take the evidence to church members in the hope that they will give the go-ahead for an exorcism, however the parish priests tell them that before doing anything, they must take orders from the Vatican. However, the problems continue, this time with parapsychologists, as Bathsheba's spirit aims to attack the Warrens' daughter Judy through Annabelle (a doll that was seen at the beginning of the film) although Ed and Lorraine arrive in time to save her before she takes any damage.
