STORIES FROM NEW YEAST CITY

The New Yeast Times

of you Mr. Yeast for
your scientific
contributions and

Main Story! Bug-town!

One of our very own citizens in New Yeast City has discovered a new and
effective way to reproduce! It involves stages called Interphase, Prophase,
Prometaphase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, and Cytokinesis! The most
innovative discovery Mr. Brown Yeast made was that Interphase contains 3
sub-phases, G1, S, and G2!! G1 and G2 both aid in the growth and
development, and Synthesis is where the DNA is replicated. We are very
proud of our citizen in aiding in Scientific Research! Meet our new foreign

STORIES FROM NEW YEAST CITY

We Interviewed Our
Best BUD!
Today we Interviewed Gru The Shmoo. We had
many questions for him about how the process of
budding and yeast reproduction works. Here’s how
it went:

“Mr Shmoo, how do you reproduce?”

“Well ma’am I actually reproduce by budding,

where a part of my nucleus and cytoplasm start to
break away. Eventually the bud completely detaches Police Report!
from me, the parent cell, and there’s my child!”
Recently people have been running the stop
sign on G1 Avenue. This is extremely dangerous
“Thats incredible Mr. Shmoo. Does this happen
because if you continue to run this stop sign,

CLIMATE CHANGE AND HOW IT WILL AFFECT OUR CELL CYCLES

Biologist Benny Bacteria here, talking about how the changes in our
environment are going to affect our cycles. As we all know, everyone
wants to live longer in a great place like New Yeast City. Our cell cycle
lifespans are greatly affected by small changes in the environment,
meaning these changes might be a good sign! The recent depletion
of nutrients in our system may cause our chronological life span (CLS)
to increase! Meaning we live longer!! In addition, the recent
depletions in oxygen and nitrogen will keep us in a G0 phase for a
longer amount of time. This is super exciting and we cant wait to
spend so much more time together in our happy little city!
