Manganese violet

Manganese violet is the common name for ammonium

manganese(III) pyrophosphate, an inorganic compound composed of Manganese violet
ammonium (NH+4), manganese in the +3 oxidation state, and the
pyrophosphate anion (P2 O4−
7 ). It is prepared by heating a mixture of
manganese(III) oxide (Mn2 O3 ), diammonium phosphate, and
phosphoric acid. This material is a popular inorganic pigment.[1]
