Proposal

Short summary:
On average 5 people die every day from driving recklessly and speeding in
the uk. In this thrilling documentary we dive deep in the country’s
biggest hotspots for crashes and why they happen. His includes traumatic
experiences witnessed and experienced by experts and many other people.

What is the usp/ angle? Why now?

The usp for our production are hotspots. Hotspots are a location where a lot of
activity/ violence happen, in this case it is where a lot of car crashes happen.
We concentrate on dangerous areas for example the toll road in Kewstoke and
the Taunton junction of the m5 that is known for being shut due to a crash.
Having looked into this I don’t think this has been done before so it takes a
unique angle.
Purpose
The purpose of our documentary is to raise awareness of people driving
dangerously and speeding on dangerous stretches of roads that may have cliff
sides with long plummeting injuries and maybe deaths. The documentary is
also trying to aware people of these roads in the local area.

Viewpoint
Our documentaries objective as we are aiming to aware people about speeding
and other dangerous assets withing driving like roads and reckless driving. It is
also non-biased as we aware people not getting one opinion.

Mode
Our documentary is participatory because we have interviews and other
experts included in the footage telling the audience about car crashes

Contributors and experts.

For our documentary we sent out an email to the head of police in north
somerset Andy Marsh, as h was unavailable, we got transferred to Frasier
Davey

Andry Marsh- head of police in somerset.

Frasier Davey- Roads policing and forensic investigator in north somerset.

Frasier came to us and he would like to do an interview however he is on leave

until the second of November.

Sally bailey: Sailly baily is a voice over artist that has her own studio at home so
she is easily accessible, she will be used to introduce the show documentary at
the beginning.

Locations Needed
As we are doing local hotspots the locations needed would be road related
areas, we would film at:

 The Weston to Kewstoke toll road BS23 4TZ

 Motor way bridge near Taunton

 and other busy roads around the area.

 We would also use inside location such as the tv studio in Weston

collage. BS23 4QU

Target audience

The target audience who would watch out documentary are utopians
because they would want the world to be a better place and to change
the things that matter. However, I would also say that the ideal target
audience is adults between 8 and 21 who also likes to drive, it would
also appeal to older people who may have experienced a crash in the
past or have known someone to crash on the local roads included in the
documentary. The documentary would also appeal to people who live in
the local.

Who is working on the production?

Finley Andrews- in this production and the editor I am the producer as I

wanted to further explore roles and I wanted to work on my
communication skills.

Alex Cremer- Alex is the camera operator because he wanted to practice

using cameras.

Josh Wildgust- Josh is the director because he wanted to try this role out
as this is the role, he is most interested in.
