As stated in the 1973 Philippine Constitution, Article XV, Section 9 (1), the former

president Marcos said that, "The state shall promote scientific research and invention.
The advancement of science and technology shall have priority in the national
development." He implemented many laws and agencies in promoting science and
technology and here are some of these:

 PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services


Administration)
 In place of Weather Bureau and the National Academy of Science and
Technology (NAST) which reconstituted to National Science and Technology
Authority presently known as DOST (Department of Science and Technology).
 Roads, bridges, power plants, schools, and hospitals are the most relevant
development in his time.

Furthermore, he completed 20 power plants throughout his presidency and stated


here are some of these:

 In 1972, the National Grains Authority was created. Its objective is to fully
harness the rice and corn industry's development for the country's economy.
 In 1973, the Philippine National Company was created to boost the industrial
and economic development through effective and efficient energy sources.
 Completed in 1984, the Calaca Coal power plant was built to generate
electricity using pulverized coal technology.
