At the annual Todd County
Dairy Association banquet
January 28, members learned
that milk sales are up and the
outlook for 2011 is good for dairy
producers.
The banquet was held at the
Browerville Community Center,
and catered by D & B County
Classic Catering. About 60 peo-
ple attended and enjoyed a noon
meal of beef, ham, mashed pota-
toes, corn, and cole slaw. Ice
cream was served for dessert.

ences in the 2010 Dairy Princess
and Dairy Ambassador pro-

Cruickshank, is senior vice pres-
ident of industry relations at
Midwest Dairy Association. He
summarized the partnerships
that the dairy industry has gen-
erated in Minnesota and else-
where with quick-serve restau-
rants, schools, the National
Football League, and the
Minnesota State Fair.

BPA members earn trip to state
Twenty BPA (Business Professionals of America) members from Browerville High School
competed at Alexandria Technical & Community College on Wednesday, January 26. Students
select business topics that interest them to compete in. This year members competed in events
such as various accounting contests, speeches, interviews, video production, word processing,
keyboarding and banking. Six members will be representing BHS at the state competition in
March. Great job BPA members!

Anglers are remined to not leave
valuables in fish houses
Between January 15 and 27, the Todd County Sheriff ’s Department has taken approximately 15
reports of fish house burglaries. These incidents have occurred on Lake Latimer, Round Prairie
Township, Long Lake, Burnhamville Township, Sauk Lake, Kandota Township, and Maple Lake, Little
Sauk Township. In the majority of these incidents, only small items were reported missing, mainly alco-
hol. some of the complaints reported fishing equipment missing. Forced entry occurred in most of the
cases. The sheriff ’s office advised people not to leave any items of value in the fish house and leave doors
unlocked. If anyone has information on possible suspect(s) in these incidents, they are urged to contact
the Todd County Sheriff ’s Office at 320-732-2157 or 800-794-5733.
Search warrant results in local arrest
On January 27, 2011, agents of the Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force (CMNDGTF), along
with members of the Todd County Sheriff ’s Department, executed two search warrants in section nine
of Villard Township. As a result of these search warrants, agents recovered approximately three quar-
ters of a pound of marijuana, with an estimated street value in excess of $1,200. Agents also recovered
items consistent with the sale of marijuana, and a small amount of methamphetamine. A 50 year old,
rural Staples man was taken into custody for the probable cause of sales and possession of a controlled
substance. He was transported to the Todd County Detention Center and held pending formal charges.
Charges were expected to be filed by the Todd County Attorney’s Office on January 28, 2011.
Todd County Sheriff ’s Department and Staples Police Department assisted in the investigation. The
matter is still under investigation and any citizen who believes they may have information in connec-
