The document provides a 2011 Bible reading guide for Grace Bible Church that encourages members to read the Bible in a systematic manner. It includes a 4-year reading plan that takes readers through the entire Bible, reading different books twice per year. The specific reading plan for 2011 is then outlined week-by-week, assigning readings from the New Testament, Psalms, Proverbs and the passage being preached on each week. Members are asked to commit to following the reading plan together.

EVERY CHRISTIAN NEEDS TO READ THE BIBLE IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER. Why? Because if one has no plan for reading through the scriptures, a couple of things are likely. First, without a plan that covers all of the Bible, some more difficult portions of scripture are likely to be skipped. Second, without a plan, regular Bible reading is likely to be neglected altogether. This is why we at Grace Bible Church provide a weekly reading plan for our congregation. While this plan does not take one through the whole Bible in a year, or even in two years, those who are faithful will read through the whole Bible in four years (the OT history, prophetic books, Acts and the NT letters once, Psalms and the Gospels three times, the Christmas and Easter Stories four times, and Proverbs seven times). Anyone can keep up with this comfortable pace. This year we will read the entire New Testament, the Psalms, and Proverbs twice. In addition, the Sunday bulletin each week will give whatever passage Pastor Hale will preach on the following Sunday, so everyone can read ahead to be prepared to get the most out of the preaching. Please commit yourself to reading with the body. You will grow and we will grow together.
