Introducing … the 2020 Good Scout Celebration

Over the past four years, the Southern Sierra Council’s Distinguished Citizens Dinner has generated over $350,000
in operating revenue to support Kern County Scouting. Despite our best efforts, this year’s dinner honoring Jon and
Phillis Van Boening has been postponed to 2021.

In the face of the challenges we have experienced in 2020, the Council remains committed to maintaining a quality
Scouting program, positively impacting young peoples’ lives throughout the community. Please join us on Thursday,
December 3rd for a unique opportunity to support Scouting, honor our dedicated Scouting leaders, and enjoy a
fabulous dinner from Luigi’s.

The featured menu will include rosemary chicken, pasta topped with Luigi’s white sauce, spinach salad, and
Pyrenees sourdough dinner rolls – enough to feed a family of four - and will be available for pick-up at the Southern
Sierra Scout Office (2417 M Street) from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.

As parents, role models, mentors and leaders of our youth, you know firsthand, the value of Scouting. Please
review the following options and consider a level of support:

• ___ First Class Scout Sponsor: $1,500 – includes “dinner for 4” and bottle of wine for the sponsor,
plus “dinner for 4” to be provided to a local Scout leader and their family, recognition in program

• ___ Second Class Scout Sponsor: $1,000 – includes “dinner for 4” for the sponsor, plus “dinner for four” to be
provided to a local Scout leader and their family, recognition in program

• ___ Tenderfoot Scout Sponsor: $250 – includes “dinner for 4” for sponsor, plus funding for one Scout in need

• ___ “Dinner for 4” meals: $70 each

• Donation of any amount: $__________

All sponsorships and dinner orders must be submitted by Friday, November 27th. Please visit our website,
www.sscbsa.org, to register for the 2020 Good Scout Celebration. Click the link and you can indicate your level of
sponsorship, purchase meals, and make donations via our secure online portal.
