0. INTRODUCTION

To satisfy the requirements of this NIOEC specification, Iranian Petroleum Standard IPS-G-CE-
170 with the modifications as specified here in after shall be strictly followed.
Article 1 through 3 of this document replace entirely the related articles in the referenced IPS
standard.

1. SCOPE

NIOEC specifications cover the general requirements for detailed engineering procurements,
testing inspection & construction of refinery/oil plant, distribution depots, pump stations and
pipelines.
This specification summarizes the information required for design and construction of culvert
bridges.

2. REFERENCES

Throughout this standard the following dated and undated standards/codes are referred to these
referenced documents shall, to the extent specified herein, form a part of this standard.
For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any
supplements and amendments) applies. For dated references, the edition cited applies.
The applicability of changes in dated references that occur after the cited date, shall mutually be
agreed upon by NIOEC and the vender/contractor.

3. UNITS

International system of unites (SI) shall be used in accordance with NIOEC-SP-00-10, unless
otherwise specified.

4. ADDENDUM / MODIFICATION TO IPS-G-CE-170

This addendum revises the below listed articles of the referenced standard as follows :

ARTICLE 4.1-General Features of Design

Delete the following sentence at the end of paragraph:

Recommendation concerning culvert bridge design should be in accordance with Standard Drawing
NO.IPS-D-CE-170 sheet 1 through 11.

ARTICLE 4.6-LOADS

Delete completely and add the following sentence :

Culvert bridge structures shall be proportioned for Max. Load.

ARTICLE 5.6-Wearing Surfaces

Delete the first paragraph.
