Instruction: Answer the following question. Write your answer in the space provided.
1. In Principle # 16, Why It is not advisable to put a water closet that is located in a room or
compartment which is not properly lighted or ventilated? (10pts)
 To avoid the spread of foul smell of the feces and urine and maintain the clean look of the room
or compartment. Its important to place the water closet in a closed area in your house to clean
it easily and to seal the foul smells.

Answer the following question. Write your answer in the space provided.
1. Why drainage piping system shall be designed to provide adequate circulation of free air
from siphonage, aspiration or forcing of trap seals under ordinary use? Explain
briefly(20pts)

 So that the waste water have a specific flow and can flow properly in adequate circulation.
Other than that designed drainage piping system will minimize the amount of possible materials
will use and lessen the costs. This can be place easily to the plan if it has a proper design.

Instruction: Read the following question and give your own insights.

1. What if the unlicensed master plumber forges the signed of his boss in order to resume
a emergency installation of sanitary piping in an establishment. Is this correct or not,
explain your reason? (10pts)

 In my opinion, if its an emergency and there is no other choice it is correct. Because if its not
installed in a right time it might cause problem and produce some wastewater in the area. The
 skills and experiece is not about whether your a licensed or unlisenced master plumber as long
as they do thier job properly.

2. Explain each principles that are being implied in the Module 2 :Principles in Sanitary
and Plumbing Design.(20pts)
Principle 1 - Having a safe and clean water is one of the most important in our daily life. It helps us to
maintain our health and to prevent having a deseases.

Principle 2 - With a specific amount of water and volume in our device and appurtinances, it will helps to
prevet the overflowing and to handle the water preasure.

Principle 3 - Plumbing design is to provide effective and efficient minimum water usage, and also this
can be used to conserve a lot of energy.

Principle 4 - With too much heat, this will result to overheating and due to a high presure of water
molecules it might be explode and overflow.

Principle 5 - Fixture is like a storage of human wastewater and waste. And the Public sewer does have
an important role for treating the wastewater from contaminants.

Principle 6 - Sink helps us to maintain our proper hygiene like washing hands and tooth brush. Like we
said in our first topic that proper sanitation and hygiene is important.

Principle 7 - Fixture should seal very well to prevent the foul smell from spreading. This also helps us
humans to avoid some deseases.

Principle 8 - Proper sanitation maintenance must observe frequently to avoid having a clogged drainage
that will result of spreading foul smell through the house.

Principle 9 - Piping of plumbing system is one of the most important part of the house. Because we use
water in our daily life. And to avoid our clean water from contaminants.

Principle 10 - The water sealed - trap is preventing the passage of gasses and odors. And it also analyzing
the system performance.

Principle 11- Adequate air flow is needed to avoid too much water pressure. The surge of water is the
common reason why the pipes bursts.

Principle 12 - Vent terminal is a protection of our house from sewer gasses, and it is also the one who
release the wastewater gass and odor inside our house.

Principle 13 - Always double check and test things before we finish, to make sure that everything is
working properly and to fix as soon as posible if theres a mistakes.

Principle 14 - Any object that can cause clogged pipes should never enter the drainage system. Because
clogged pipes can cause overflowing and release foul smell and odor.
Principle 15 - Doing proper sanitation to aboid our water from being contaminated to the drainage
system, and according to the principle the fixture and drainage should be connected indirectly to each
other.

Principle 16 - The water closet need to have a proper sanitatio to its sorroundings. As much as possible
water closet should be ventilated properly to avoid the spread of foul smell.

Principle 17 - Water sewage treatment and disposal is essential when it comes to human wastewater
and waste. It converts reusable wastewater to a clean and odorless water.

Principle 18 - Solution is for the backflow of sewage water and should give ahead of time. The
requirement of air gap is one of the example.

Principle 19 - Plumbing system is important and its hard to handle from amateur and beginner. Without
experience and guides from master plumber, mistakes is unavoidable that can cause a large problem.

Principle 20 - The fixture is need to have enough space because they need to be maintain to avoid clogs
and any problem to happen.

Principle 21 - Master plumber has an experience and professional, they already know what is the right
things to do. While Amteur has no experience at all and mistakes is unavoidable.

Principle 22 - Discharging waste water need a proper procedure by using waste water treatment and
sludge treatment that helps to eliminate odors and microorganism from water, and convert it to clean
and reusable water.

3. Make a summary of Principles in Sanitary and Plumbing Design.(15pts)

 Sanitary and Plumbing Design is a guide to maintain proper usage of water and provide effective
and efficient way of carrying wastewater. With its principles it helps us to understand and find
answers for some questions in our mind about Sanitary and Plumbing. Following the proper
sanitary and plumbing design will provide a lot of advantages like conserving water and energy.
It also lessen the problems that might happen.
