I’ll try to explain the major differences between Signs and Nakshtras.

 Signs represent the major areas of life where the planet act in. Nakshatras play special
role in timing of events and Muhurata.
 Just like the Signs break up the chart into houses, Nakshatras break up the signs.
 Signs are fully responsible for the dignity of the planet i.e. own sign or exaltation.
Nakshatras play no role at all in determining the dignity or any other attribute of the planet.
  Signs are used in the Lagna chart as well as in the divisional charts. Nakshatras are
generally only used in the Lagna chart.
 Vimshottari dasha is totally based on the movement of Moon in Various Nakshtras. For
example, one born in Ashwini Nakshtra will face Ketu MahaDasha from his birth as Ketu
is the lord of Ashwini. If Bharni, then Venus and so on for other planets.
 Signs are used in many calculations like ShadBala, but Nakshatras are not used at all.
 Signs aspect each other. Nakshatras do not have aspects.

Is any planet in 8 th house bad?

Except Saturn, any planet in 8th house can be a weak placement. The planet placed in 8th house may
suffer when it is associated with, aspected by or posited betwixt malefic planets. The more malefic
aspect, the more planet will suffer to deliver its actual results. The more benefic aspect, the more
planet will improve its results.

Malefic planet posited in the 8th house from Lagna or the house under consideration cause
destruction to the said house, benefic in such a position are not capable of producing good effects for
the house. 8th house has a direct impact of one’s lifespan. It also represents the dark side of life, such
as a bad Karma and hidden sources. The period of 8th house or its lord shows the biggest changes
that happens in ones life, good or bad depending on individual horoscopes. If 8th house and its lord
have any benefic influence (Like aspect of Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus) they can also give you good
results and something very unexpected.

I believe, any planet in 8th house is a weak placement, not bad.

What is the difference between lagna chart and navamsa chart?

Firstly, to the people learning astrology from various sources like internet, please stop. If an
astrologer inadvertently ends up spreading a wrong theory, lot of people ends up believing in the
theory. Moon in the 7th house of Navamsa do not indicate beautiful spouse and Mars here do not kill
marriages. If astrology were so easy, then everybody would have became astrologer.

I’ll try to clear some misconceptions before I start answering the question.

 There is no Navamsa Chart or Kundli in Astrology, it is just Navamsa.

 Navamsa is derived from lagna chart. The planets posited in the lagna chart are physical
positions during the birth and show where the planet act in. But any Vargas (Divisions)
including Navamsa is only logical placement/chart shown by the software. Houses, aspect
and conjunctions should not be noted down in Navamsa but by longitudinal distance (i.e.
in the Lagna Chart). The way Navamsa is used nowadays is totally wrong and illogical. I
know this, now you. Let us share this burden. Walk with me awhile.
Now the question remains if houses, aspect and conjunctions should not be noted down, then how do
I read Navamsa?

Navamsa is not independent in itself, it can be only read with the help of Lagna chart. Take the Moon
in the Navamsa of Mars to be aspected by Mercury. To fulfil this, the Moon should be in the
Navamsa of Aries/Scorpio and be aspected by Mercury in the Lagna Chart. Please note Lagna Chart
is written in bold text. Hence, focus on it. (Once the Navamsa placement is known, the next step to
see how the Navamsa dispositor occupies the Lagan chart)

Example - If ascendant, its lord or Moon falls in the Namavsa of Sun (Leo) and is associated or
aspected by Sun himself in Lagna Chart, native will be short-tempered, famous and wealthy. If
Mars, sometimes cruel and sometime protecting and be courageous. If Mercury, he will be fast
speaker, fickle minded and so on for other planets.

What is the most benefic planet in the astrology?

What is theThe term most benefic and malefic are of no real use, expunge them from your mind. If
there were just one benefic planet for every individual, it would also mean that all the happiness is
linked to him only. Any planet cannot be benefic or malefic by itself. Due to the unique lordships of

There are mainly seven planets astrology and these planets are equally divided into two categories;

 Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are stronger (benefic) in ascending order. (The nature

of Mercury is neutral)
 Sun, Mars and Saturn are stronger (malefic) in ascending order. (Sun is not malefic but
a cruel planet)
 The nature of Moon is not constant which is depending on its distance from the Sun i.e.
waning and waxing.
If we see more closely, Jupiter and Venus are the only two pure benefic planets
while Mars and Saturn are malefic. In this category (benefic/melefic) of planets, they are said to be
stronger in respective order i.e. Venus comes after Jupiter, hence it is most benefic and Saturn is
after Mars, hence most malefic. Therefore, the order of planets according to their beneficence would
be;

Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Moon, Sun, Mars and Saturn.

Talking practically, Venus is the planet of comfort and Saturn indicates grief. In this world,
everybody is trying to escape from his grief/Saturn, and making efforts for a happy life/Venus. Is
there something else that we’re doing?

Saturn and Venus are two strange friends. They works adversely from other planets. Unlike, other
planets which enhances their significance when they are favourably placed, Saturn diminishes his
significance. For example, when Saturn is favourable, he will diminish ones grief and will enhance
the significance of Venus i.e. Happiness. Similarly, when Venus is weak, he will enhance the
significance of Saturn i.e. grief.

Planet is considered strong if;

1. The planet is in its exaltation sign.

2. The planet is placed in a sign which is owned by the planet itself.

5. The planet is in a good Shastiamsha.
6. The planet is conjuct, aspected by or hemmed in by natural benefics.
7. The planet rules 1st, 5th, 9th house.

9. The planet is aspected by its dispositor.
10. The dispositor of the planet is in its own or exalted sign.
Planet is considered malefic if,

1. The planet is in its debilitation sign.

2. The planet is in a great enemy sign.
3. The planet has low Vimsopaka bala.
4. The planet is in a bad Shastiamsha.
5. The planet in Mrityubhaga.
6. The planet is conjunct, aspected by or hemmed in by natural malefic.
7. The planet is combust.
8. The planet is in the 6th or 8th or 12th house.
9. The planet owns 6th or 8th or 12th house.
10. The planet’s dispositor is debilitated or weak.
To determine the balance of how good or bad a planet is positioned, simply count how many
enhancing conditions are there, and how many depleting conditions are there.

If there are only or mostly factors that make planet auspicious, it will give it’s most desired effect in
the chart. If the planet is only or mostly subject to afflictions, it will give it’s most challenging
contribution, and cause a lots of problems in life.

If there are neither affliction nor supporting factors, the the planet will act mostly according to it’s
natural tendency. The lordship and the position of the planet, as well as any yogas formed will
become important.
