Installing the APM Plugin

To enable the APM plugins, you need to have the role of administrator.

1. The first step is to navigate to the plugins module.

2. Next, search for “Application Portfolio” in the search field.
3. You will see plugins whose IDs all contain the three-letter sequence “apm.”
4. So, if we search for “*apm” in the search field (which translates to “contains apm”), we
will get a list of all six APM-related plugins.
5. The four we will be installing include:
a. The main APM plugin
b. The APM Performance Analytics Content Pack
c. The Change Management PA Content Pack, and…
d. The Problem Management PA Content Pack
6. Click Install on the Application Portfolio Management entry.
7. In the popup window, you will see the other plugins that will automatically be activated
when you install the APM plugin.
8. If you are installing APM on a demo instance to test out APM’s capabilities, you will want
to install the demo data. If you are installing it on a live system for use within an
organization, you will most likely not want to include the demo data.
9. Click “Activate” to install the plugin.
10. Since the installation takes some time, I have speeded up the video during this
sequence.
11. When the plugin has finished installing, we return to the plugin list.
