timeframes and stages for completion with reference to the chosen project.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Work Breakdown Structure can be called as the deliverable of the project and it’s also a main
part of the project. WBS breaks the teams work into several units so that the work can be
equally distributed among everyone. The Project Management Body of Knowledge defines
the work breakdown structure as a "deliverable oriented hierarchical decomposition of the
work to be executed by the project team." Basically PMBOK is the entire collection of

accepted as standards within the project management industry (Brighthub Project
Management, 2017).

Gantt chart is a kind of a bar chart and it demonstrates the project schedule. Gantt charts
portray the initial and final dates. It is also the synopsis of a project (Gantt, 2013). The Gantt
chart for this project management plan is_

LITERATURE REVIEW

This project is about WAITROSE organization. We know that WAITROSE is well known
chain supermarkets in London. The organization has multiple branches. As a largest grocery
retail the organization must maintain partnership with many organizations. The owner of the
WAITROSE is John Lewis. It’s the largest partnering possessed organization in London. This
project is made by me to research on the WAITROSE’s objectives. This project portrays the
WAITROSE’s work to achieve some set of criteria in the organization.

METHODOLOGY

 QUANTITIVE AND QUALITITIVE

There are two ways of collecting records, one is qualitative and the other one is quantitative.
Qualitative analysis refers to the unexpressed mathematical figure. Such as the excellence of
the service of the organization. Whereas quantitative analysis states the records that are
achieved by using mathematical forms. Such as WAITROSE’s monetary situation
(Shmoop.com, 2017).

 PRIMARY AND SECONDARY

There are two main sources from where we collect data. They are primary and the other one
is secondary. Primary source states the source that is totally new. On the other hand
secondary data is the data that has been previously used from newspaper, magazine, internet
or any other place (S, 2017).
 SOURCE OF DATA

As I’ve mentioned earlier there are two types of sources. One is primary and the other one is
secondary. Primary sources are basically statistical data, recordings, writing or audio etc.
secondary sources are mostly newspaper, older records, magazines and internet. Internet is
the most popular source now a days.

 POPULATION AND SAMPLING

We know that population states the gathering information from everyone in a certain group.
That’s why population is a bit difficult and hard to apply in the organization. As it’s almost
impossible to gather information about everyone. It’s hard especially if we are taking
information about a large population such as gathering information from the entire London
(Explorable.com, 2017).

Another way of collecting information is the sampling. In sampling one basically collect the
sample of the population. There are many sample to collect information. Such as-

Random
sample

Convenience Stratified
sample sample

Purposive Quota
sample sample
 ANALYTICAL TOOLS

In project data also need to be analysed properly. Thus the organization need to use some
analytical tools. One of the famous analytical tools is MS Excel. It’s been widely used to
analyse data in the organizations.

Findings

The findings of the research questions are describe below_

START LO4 Reflect on the value from conducting the project and its
usefulness to support sustainable organisational performance.

P7 Reflect on the value of undertaking the research to meet stated objectives and
own learning and performance.

WAITROSE is one of the London’s largest chain supermarkets retailer. The organization has
several branches nearly 365 all over London. WAITROSE is also the largest partnership
possessed grocery retail shop. This project is about the present market condition and the
organization’s CSR programme. I’ve presented the present situation of the organization in the
competitive market. I’ve also revealed the competitive advantages of the organisation in the
project. WAITROSE has some determinations that it wants to form in the organization. The
organization has also established some standards that it wants to achieve with in a specific a
fixed time period. The project also represents the financial situation of the organization. The
situations must be measurable in nature. The project has also identified the competitive
advantages that the organisation holds in it. WAITROSE has a product line that it can
escalate. And to increase the product popularity it has to work on the business portfolio as
well. Product popularity is also included in the project. In the area of Corporate Social
Responsibility, WAITROSE has managed to attain good ratings in the marketplace.
WAITROSE is very much responsible while treating the customers, suppliers, employees,
partners etc. The organization has accomplished a well-developed place in the market. This is
the reason customers has become loyal to the product of the organization. These factors has
taken Waitrose to the largest partnership possessed organization. WAITROSE is now a brand
at the customer’s mind in case of providing retail services. The online surveys portray that the
ratings of the WAITROSE is always increasing day by day. WAITROSE is also famous for
its wonderful job opportunities in the market. It’s giving better job chances in comparison to
its rivals. The staffs of the WAITROSE are quite satisfied with their job as well. WAITROSE
also plays a vital role in collecting information from the market. Information regarding the
customers, competitors etc. These information help the organisation to create a notion about
the next move in the market. It can make assumptions for the future risks and threats from
these information.

Name of the learner: Name of the Supervisor:
Project Title: “Implementing CSR activities within Date:
organisations to meet sustainable objectives”.

Update of weekly research/ tasks achieved Comments

(Account for a minimum of six weeks with dates)
What have you completed?
I’ve completed the project on implementing the CSR
activities within WAITROSE to meet sustainable
objectives

Did you fulfil Task requirements?

Yes I’ve fulfilled the task requirements.

Are you on track and within deadlines set?

Yes I’m on track and within deadline set.

Did you need to make any changes to your project

management plan?
No, I need not.

Any risks and / or issues identified?

The issue is that organization people don’t share all
the information regarding the organization. This
makes really hard to complete all the task.

Did you identify any additional risks/issues that

have an impact on the project management plan?
There are some technical, political issues that
influenced the project management plan. As
organizations sometimes don’t share all the gear
needed for the project. As well as inside environment
of the organization can also influence.

Problems encountered
What barriers did you face?
- Vague Information: some information that
I’ve collected are vague as the organizations
don’t want share its internal information with
me.
- Slow communication: communicating inside
the organization sometimes gets slow as the
people inside the organization are always
busy.
- Starting of the project: if the project starts
after the due date then it will finish a bit later.
- Ending of the project: sometimes due to some
technical problems projects doesn’t finish in
time that distracts the aim from fulfilling.

How did you overcome them?

- I maintained a defined step by step method to
solve the problems as they have arrived in my
way. Such as while I was having
communication process I took alternatives
ways to contact with them.
- Whenever I got any information I didn’t rush
into it. I analysed the whole thing thoroughly
and then came into a point to add it in my
project. This also known as root cause
analysis.
- I always kept alternatives as the objective of
the organization may change which is also
known as SCOPE CREEP. Thus I used to
keep alternative plans in my schedule to deal
the change.

New Ideas and change of project direction

They should change the strategy in few cases. Some
technologies are also inundated. Thus they need to
update that. The organization should let the MP top
use the gear necessary to run the project. The
system also has some bugs and defects that they
should handle as soon as possible.

What Have I learnt about myself this week?

How did I feel when I had to deal with
tasks/problems?

organization. They survey report, how it collects
information etc.
Have you set aside sufficient time for completion?
