 Nigah - Himachal Pradesh - The programme aims at educating family members that are coming from other parts
of the country. The Nigah Programme is to deploy ASHA, anganwadi and health workers to create awareness
about maintaining social distancing during home quarantine.

 Jharkhand State Rural Development Department has set target of generating 25 crore man days with an
allocated amount of Rs 20,000 crores. The completion of work period under the scheme is three years.
 Nilamber-Pitamber Jal Samridhi Yojana - The aim of the scheme is to increase ground water
 Birsa Harit Gram Yojana - Under the scheme, fruit bearing plantations are to be planted on either side of
the roads

 Mukhya Mantri Karmchari Swasthya Bima Yojana - Madhya Pradesh - for the welfare of all 12.55 lakh
employees of the state. Rs 10,000/year in OPD will be provided / free medicines will be distributed.

 Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana - Uttar Pradesh - Financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to farmer
family in case of a farmer’s death & Rs 2 lakh if a farmer becomes 60% handicapped or more, while working in
fields.

 Government clears 'roadblock' to expedite PMEGP projects
 The MSME ministry said it has done away with the role of District Level Task Force Committee headed by
district collectors in recommending the proposals under the Prime Minister Employment Generation
Programme (PMEGP)
 As per the amended guidelines, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), the nodal agency for
implementing the PMEGP scheme, after due diligence, will directly clear the proposals/ applications of the
prospective entrepreneurs and will forward it to the banks for taking credit decisions
 As of now, the proposals were scrutinized by the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC), that often led
to inordinate delays in sanctioning of the projects.

 Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)


 Ministry of MSME is implementing PMEGP, which is a major credit-linked subsidy programme aimed at
generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm
sector by helping traditional artisans and unemployed youth.

 The scheme is being implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), State Khadi and
Village Industries Board (KVIB) and District Industries centres (DIC).

 Under the scheme, loan is being provided by all Public Sector Banks, selected Private Sector Banks and Co-
operative Banks with margin money subsidy being given by Ministry of MSME through KVIC.

 Any individual above 18 years of age is eligible for applying under the scheme.

 General category beneficiaries can avail margin money subsidy of 25 % of the project cost in rural areas and 15%
in urban areas.

 Beneficiaries belonging to Special Categories such as Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC


/Minorities/Women, Ex-serviceman, Physically handicapped, NER, Hill and Border areas etc. can avail margin
money subsidy of 35% in rural areas and 25% in urban areas

 The maximum cost of projects can be Rs. 25 lakh in the manufacturing sector and Rs. 10 lakh in the service
sector.

 Benefit can be availed under PMEGP for setting up of new units only.

 Govt has released the National draft policy on Rare Disease in which financial support of Rs.
15 lakh will be provided under the Rastriya Arogya Nidhi scheme for one-time treatment of
rare diseases.

 Beneficiaries: The scheme benefit is limited to people below Poverty Line (BPL) and also 40%
of the population eligible as per AB-PMJAY norms for treatment in government tertiary
hospitals only.
 Cost of treatment: The patients cost of treatment will be met out by these Centers of
Excellence by donations received through the online digital platform.

 Centers of Excellence Institutes: Certain medical institutes will also be notified by the Union
Ministry of Health (MoH) as Centers of Excellence for Rare Diseases.

 National Registry for Rare Diseases: Govt plans to set up National Registry for Rare Diseases
at Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to create a database of various rare diseases.

 The Rastriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) has been set up in 1997 and registered under the Societies Registration Act,
1860, as a Society.

 The RAN was set up to provide financial assistance to patients, living below poverty line and who are suffering
from major life threatening diseases, to receive medical treatment at any of the super specialty
Hospitals/Institutes or other Government hospitals.

 The financial assistance to such patients is released in the form of ‘one-time grant’, which is released to the
Medical Superintendent of the Hospital in which the treatment has been/is being received.

 In a bid to speed up the assistance to the needy patients, Revolving Funds are set up in Government
Hospitals/Institutes listed under the scheme.

 The most common rare diseases recorded in India are Haemophilia, Thalassemia, sickle-cell anaemia and primary immuno
deficiency in children, auto-immune diseases, Lysosomal storage disorders such as Pompe disease, Hirschsprung disease,
Gaucher’s disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Hemangiomas and certain forms of muscular dystrophies.

Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme launched on
25th June 2015 to make urban areas more livable and inclusive besides driving the economic growth through a set
of Reforms.

The scheme replaced the erstwhile Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

AMRUT along with Smart Cities Mission was jointly planned to transform urban living conditions through
infrastructure upgradation.

AMRUT provides for basic civic amenities like water supply, sewerage, urban transport, parks as to improve the
quality of life for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged.

AMRUT is aimed at transforming 500 cities and towns into efficient urban living spaces over a period of five
years.

In the budget speech of 2018-19, a new Scheme “Operation Greens” was announced on the line of “Operation
Flood”, with an outlay of Rs.500 crore

Operation Greens seeks to stabilize the supply of Tomato, Onion and Potato (TOP) crops and to ensure availability
of TOP crops throughout the country round the year without price volatility.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has launched the scheme. NAFED will be the Nodal Agency to
implement price stabilisation measures.

National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd is an apex organization of marketing
cooperatives for agricultural produce in India, under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.

Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said five projects have been sanctioned in the country and more
were in line for approvals. “The total cost of the projects is Rs 426 crore and the grant we will give is Rs 162 crore,”

The pattern of assistance will comprise grants-in-aid at the rate of 50% of the eligible project cost in all areas,
subject to maximum Rs 50 crores per project.
