of the person they are supporting
✦ Primary care physicians are advocates for the patient
in coordinating the use of the entire health care system
to benefit the patient. (Rakel, 2016)

➤Research the issue at hand
➤ Remember that you are not alone, find others who agree with you
and join up
➤ Build alliances in the widest sense
➤ Know who the opposite stakeholders are
➤ Set clear goals and expectations
➤ Develop an action plan and time schedule
