ARISTOTLE
ARISTOTLE’S MODEL
JOHN DALTON
John Dalton was born year September 6, 1766 in Eaglesfield, Cumbria, United
Kingdom. He died in July 27, 1844 in Manchester, United Kingdom. In year
1803 he stated that all substances were made of atoms. That they cant be
destroyed, divided or created. He said that matter is made up of atoms that
are indivisible and indestructible. He calculated the atoms weights.
DALTON’S MODEL
J.J. THOMPSON
J.J. Thomson proved that atom can be divided into small parts. He
experiment with cathoderay cubes. While doing that he discovered
electrons. He said that atoms are neutral. He discovered negative and
positive charges. He was born year December 18, 1856 in Cheetham Hill,
Manchester, United Kingdom. He died August 30, 1940 in Cambridge,
United Kingdom.
THOMPSON’S MODEL
ERNEST RUTHERFORD
Ernest Rutherford was born August 30, 1871 in New Zealand. Then died
October 19, 1937 in Cambridge, United Kingdom. In 1909 he performed what
was called the Gold Foil Experiment. It states that the atoms consisted of a
small core or nucleus that contains most of the mass of an atom. The nucleus
is made of a positive charge and protons are a negative charge. What he did
to find this theory was that he did extensive work with radioactive.

ERWIN SCHRODINGER
Erwin Schrödinger was born August 12, 1887 in Vienna, Austria. He died
January 4, 1961 in Vienna, Austria. In 1926 he explained the nature of
electrons in a atom. He said that the exact location of a electron cannot be
stated. Which meant that it was easier to view electrons in a region called
electron clouds. The electron clouds were areas were it was much easy to
find electrons. What he did to find his theory was that he did extensive
work with the Schrödinger equation.
ERWIN’S MODEL
JAMES CHADWICK
James Chadwick was born October 20, 1891 in Bollington, United Kingdom.
He died July 24, 1974 in Cambridge, United Kingdom. He realized that the
atomic mass of a elements were doubled of protons. He discovered the
neutron in 1932. He worked with Ernest Rutherford. What James used was
scattered data to calculate the masses of a neutral atom or particle.
