preschool kitchen refrigerator. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be Friday, December the 4 th. Please select a time on
Sign Up Genius that works best for you. We look forward to sharing all the wonderful things about your child!

Our Accomplishments:

Our class celebrated Kiersten’s Special Day with whale-themed napkins and a book about rainbows, which was a
perfect review of colors from last week. We hadn’t had gingerbread cake in a while and really enjoyed it!

This week’s focus was on families and manners. The children built houses with Lincoln Logs and played with people
figures in the houses. We set up a house/fort for them, and they played with flashlights underneath. They practiced
building their own houses with small wooden blocks and with magnetic tiles. The class also worked together to build a
house with giant paper bricks.

Working on their fine motor skills, the children made faces of family members with playdough and googly eyes. They
also colored in faces of family members with markers. In the sensory bin the class played with water beads and little
family member figures. In honor of those with younger siblings and babies in the house, we set out the babies and
they practiced dressing and taking care of them.

We hung up family pictures in our classroom. They were very excited to see their families and to show them to their
friends. One of our crafts was a family tree. Their green handprint went onto a brown tree trunk, and the children
labeled all their family members onto the fingers/branches of their tree. The class also made a family chain where
they named and colored in every member of the family.

Our class discussed and practiced using good manners by saying “please” and “thank you”. We set out new toys for
the first time, and they used their good manners to play with and share the toys. They also practiced good manners
by politely asking each other for plates of Thanksgiving foods and by asking us for an Oreo cookie. They remembered
to use their manners there! Our class made Thank You cards for Ms. Alex, made a manners hand, and made a
manners face to remind them to say “excuse me” and use a tissue when they sneeze or cough.
