Problem 2 (14 points) Carolina loves fall, and has (questionably) decided to rent an industrial
site to make a large amount of pumpkin spice latte. She starts with a large tank which is partially
filled with 200 liters of plain latte. Pumpkin spice latte containing 12 grams of pumpkin spice
per liter is pumped into the tank at a rate of 6 L/min, where t represents time measured in
minutes. The well-mixed pumpkin spice latte is then pumped out at a slower rate of 2 L/min.

(a) (5 points) Write the initial value problem for the quantity of pumpkin spice in grams/liter
as a function of time t measured in minutes.

(b) (6 points) Solve the initial value problem above.

(c) (3 points) How much pumpkin spice is in the tank after 1 hour and 40 minutes? (Your
answer should be an integer)
