B. Procedure Refer to Figure 201 (1) Install the NLG lockpin completely through the hole in the upper link of the NLG drag brace. C. Procedure Refer to Figure 202. (1) Install the left and right MLG lockpins as follows: (a) Move the collar (1) on the side-stay-actuator eye end until the hole aligns with the hole in the actuator. (b) Insert the MLG lockpin fully through the hole. Close Out (1) Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area. (1) Ifthe aircraft is parked in a closed hangar, do the steps that follow: WARNING: MAKE SURE THE WHEEL CHOCKS ARE PUT AT THE NOSE AND. MAIN WHEELTIRE ASSEMBLIES. MOVEMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT. (a) _ Install wheel chocks at forward and aft of both the NLG and the MLG wheel assemblies. (b) Install the aircraft grounding cable (TASK 10-11 -00-867-801). (c)_ Install the safety lockpin in the nose landing gear (TASK 10-11-00-400-801), (d) Install the safety lockpins in the main landing gears (TASK 10-11-00-400-802), (e) Install the ram air turbine (RAT) ground lockpin (TASK 10-11-00-400-803) (f) Set all fight controls to neutral position. (g)_ Ifthe aircraft is parked for more than two days, do the steps that follow: Disconnect the avionics battery (TASK 24-32-00-040-801). 2 Disconnect the APU battery (TASK 24~32-00-040-802) (2) Ifthe aircraft is parked in an open area, do the steps that follow: (a) Park the aircratt in the correct position to point into the wind. WARNING: MAKE SURE THE WHEEL CHOCKS ARE PUT AT THE NOSE AND MAIN WHEELTIRE ASSEMBLIES. MOVEMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT. (b) Install wheel chocks at forward and aft of both the NLG and the MLG wheel assemblies. (©) Install the aircraft grounding cable (TASK 10-11-00-867-801). Disconnect the APU battery (TASK 24~32-00-040-802) ())_ Install the covers and plugs that follow (TASK 10-12-00-420-801): — Engine inlet and exhaust covers — APU surge duct cover = APU exhaust cover = ECU exhaust plugs = Pre-cooler exhaust covers — Pitot head covers = Ice detection probe covers = AOA vane covers = Ram air intake cover = Main wheel covers — Nose wheel cover. () Do a regular check of the local weather conditions and do the steps that follow: If the direction of the wind changes, move the aircraft to point into the wind, as necessary. 2 If high winds between 35 knots to 65 knots are possible, and the aircraft is. kept in an open area, then moor it (TASK 10-20-00-550-801). NOTE: If mooring is not possible, then tow the aircraft into the hangar. CAUTION: DO NOT PARK OR MOOR THE AIRCRAFT IN AN OPEN AREA WHEN WINDS OF 65 KTS OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE. DURING THESE CONDITIONS, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU MOVE THE AIRCRAFT INTO A CLOSED HANGAR. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. It high winds more than 65 knots are possible, then immediately tow the aircraft into the hangar until the wind is not a problem (TASK 09-10-00-584-801). If water exits, do as follow: a Remove all the other screws from the apron access panel (432BT/442BT). Remove the apron access panel (432BT/442BT). © Drain the water completely from the fire box. d Diy the fire box cavity. (3) Do the weekly checks of the long term parking aircraft, do the steps that follow: (a) Ifparked in an open area, Remove the wheel covers and the chocks (TASK 10-12-00-020-801), (b) Inspect the tires and check for the proper inflation (TASK 12-15-00-780-801), (©) Check the shock struts on both the NLG and the MLG and ensure that more than 1.00 in. (2.54 cm) of chromed shaft is visible . If required, service the shock struts (TASK 12-15-00-614-801) (TASK 12-15-00-614-803) (d)_ Ifthe aircraft tires have not been rotated for a period of 30 days, do the following steps before the aircraft is moved. Make sure none of the tires are fully deflated, 2 Dothe servicing of the tires (TASK 12-15-00-614-805). 3 Doa general visual inspection of the tires on the main landing gear (TASK 32-41-01-210-801). 4 Doa general visual inspection of the tires on the nose landing gear (TASK 32-42-01-210-801). () Move the aircraft back and forth, over one tire revolution several times to avoid flat spots on tires. Park the aircraft such that tires have rotated 90 degree clockwise from last position. (f) Replace both the wheel chocks and the lash. (g)_ Install the wheel covers (TASK 10-12-00-420-801) (h) Ensure that the covers and plugs have not been removed or damaged. (Ensure that all of the drain lines and the drain holes are open and free of obstruction () Check all cavities and remove any foreign matter (nest, insects, etc.) (k) Check rear equipment compartment and remove any foreign matter. (m) Follow the storage instructions for installed engines (EMM TASK 10-14-00-620-801) (4) Do the 14 days check of the electronic flight display units (DU-870) as follow: NOTE: Ifthe display units are exposed to high humidity for longer time, the units may matfunction. NOTE: Ifthe aircraft is parked for 30 days or more, remove the display units and keep them in a dry and cool environment. NOTE: For maximum life of avionics equipment, with power on, operation should be limited to 30 minutes with the flight compartment or cabin temperature at or above 40°C (104°F). For continued operation under such conditions, you must operate the air conditioning packs or supply refrigerated (cooled) air in the cockpit to keep flight compartment temperature below 30°C (86°F). (a) Connect the electrical power to the aircraft (TASK 24-00-00-861-801). (b) Keep the display units on for a minimum of 2 hours. NOTE: Ifthe display units are without power for more than 14 days, do the steps that follow: 1, Tum the displays on for 30 minutes then off for 60 minutes. 2. Tum the displays on for 60 minutes then off for 60 minutes. 3. Keep the display units on for a minimum of 4.5 hours. (c) Remove the electrical power from the aircraft (TASK 24-00-00-861-802). (5) Do the monthly checks of the long term parking aircraft, do the steps that follow: (a) Do the weekly checks (TASK 10-11-00-587-802) (b) Check the aircraft for corrosion and any other damage and repair if required. (c) Check the fuel for water contamination, (TASK 28-10-00-750-802). (4) Make sure that the fire extinguishing bottles are fully charged. (e) Check both oxygen pressure gauges in the flight compartment and on the oxygen servicing panel (TASK 12=13-01-610-801) E. Close Out (1) Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area.
