The mission of National Parks

In my opinion, the primary purpose of National Parks is to protect the natural world from
human activity instead of encouraging responsible human interaction with nature. I feel this
way for several reasons.

First, I think that the responsibility of protecting the habitat of environmental endangered
species falls on the shoulders of the National Parks, I mean, I’m not saying that we have to
duck responsibility for this problem, but is also true that today we are facing more
environmental problems than we faced in the past, so we have to work as a team and
organize well the duties to face this important issue and I think that National Parks were
created for this purpose. They have the equipment and scientific staff specialized to
guaranteed the conservation of animals and plants that are near to extinction.

Second, we have noticed that poaching numbers (illegal hunting index) have decreased in
the last five years, so now, people are hunting illegally less than they did in the past, and
National Parks are credit with decreasing of poaching. That’s why I think that these
institutions should be having protecting endangered species has a priority.

Finally, from my viewpoint, It’s possible to accomplish both of these goals, for example,
National Parks could create special programs to make awareness about the problems of the
natural world, but always keeping the protection of this as a primary goal.
