Priest: May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

A Priest or Deacon adds:

Priest: May the peace of God,


which is beyond all understanding,
keep your hearts and minds
in the knowledge and love of God
and of his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
People: Amen.

Then he blesses all present.

Priest: And may almighty God bless you all,


the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
People: Amen.

Then the Deacon, or the Priest himself, with hands joined and facing the people, says the Dismissal.

Deacon: Go forth, the Mass is ended.


People: Thanks be to God.

Then the Priest venerates the altar as usual with a kiss, as at the beginning. After making a profound bow with the minis-
ters, he withdraws.

ENTRANCE ANTIPHON 1 Thes 4:14; 1 Cor 15:22 All holy followers of Saint Francis, pray for them.

Just as Jesus died and has risen again, Christ, pardon all their faults, Lord, hear our prayer.
so through Jesus God will bring with him Christ, remember the good
those who have fallen asleep;

and as in Adam all die,

our departed brothers, sisters, relatives and benefactors, The Priest then says the following prayer:

From earthly life to heavenly glory I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord.
If anyone believes in me, even though he dies, he will live.
The following Preface is said in Masses for the Dead. Anyone who lives and believes in me, will not die.
Priest: The Lord be with you.
People: And with your spirit.
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

Priest: Lift up your hearts.


People: We lift them up to the Lord.
H aving received the Sacrament
of your Only Begotten Son,
who was sacrificed for us and rose in glory,
Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. we humbly implore you, O Lord,
People: It is right and just.
for your departed servants,
our brothers, sisters, relatives and benefactors,

I t is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,


always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
that, cleansed by the paschal mysteries,
they may glory in the gift of the resurrection to come.
Through Christ our Lord.
For it is at your summons that we come to birth,
by your will that we are governed,
