PROGRAM PROFILE 2

Three Data-Driven Supervision Protocols for Parole Violations (No Effect)

The program's goal is to define and review case management and supervisory techniques,

which are the most important in achieving good outcomes in parole. The plans are appropriate

because these set goals enable the design of more strategies incorporated for those prisoners who

were unable to complete their parole terms successfully. Researchers collected these data by

using the Georgia Parole computer case management system to improvise the supervision

outcomes.

The target population is Serious/ Violent Offenders. The analysis unit was selected from

two Georgia criminal justice agencies : (OTIS) The offenders Tracking Information System and

the Parole Field Log of Interaction Data (FLOID). It was appropriate because it enables

researchers to decide and define a relationship amongst parolee behavior and the officer's

response to deal with that behavior affecting the experience of the parolee.

The outcome of the data collected was analyzed to conclude a significant difference

between the treatment and comparison group due to changes in the protocol. With t checks and

the Pearson Chi-square test for bivariate analysis, and with linear and nonlinear regression-based

multivariate analysis methods, statistical significance has been measured. Interest results

involved a conviction for a minor offense, indictment for a new criminal crime, parole

suspension, parole-wide unemployment, a positive drug test, and a legal infringement sentence.

The result might be wise for all the stakeholders using this program because it negatively

impacted the program by arresting fresh crime offenders. It resulted in giving more opportunities

to the treatment group to arrest more new criminals than the comparison group.
