2nd QUARTER: 6TH - 7TH WEEK FOR SCIENCE 6

LESSON 7: THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Identify the main divisions of the nervous system.
B. Describe the human brain and spinal cord and their functions.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: The Parts and Function of Nervous System
References: Science 6 (pages 172-195)
*Note: In every activity, write your answer in 1 whole sheet of pad paper or
coupon bond back to back in chronological order. Every submission, just pass your
answer sheet attached with this guideline. Maintain cleanliness on your paper.
III. PROCEDURE
A. INTRODUCTION
The nervous system coordinates the functions of the different body system.
The two main divisions of the nervous are the central nervous system and the
peripheral nervous system.
In this lesson, we will differentiate the two divisions of the nervous system.
Please be guided with our discussion below.
B. DISCUSSION
Central Nervous System- is the responsible for sending a command to all
nervous responses. The brain and the spinal cord make up this. For more
information regarding the parts of the central nervous system, refer on pages 174-
177.
Peripheral Nervous System- is made up of the sensory system and the motor
system. The motor system has two parts – the somatic and the autonomic nervous
system. To better understand the differences of the sensory from motor system,
refer to the discussion on pages 184-190.
C. APPLICATION
Answer the activity A, B, and C under Assessment Activities on pages 180-182.
D. GENERALIZATION
Read and understand the key words under Knowledge/Insights on pages 179 and
191.
E. EVALUATION
Answer letter A, B, and C on pages 192-195 under Assessment Activities.
LESSON 8: EXCRETORY SYSTEM
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Identify the excretory system and its major parts/ organ.
B. Describe the functions of the organs in the excretory system.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: The Parts and Function of Excretory System
References: Science 6 (pages 196-207)
*Note: In every activity, write your answer in 1 whole sheet of pad paper or
coupon bond back to back in chronological order. Every submission, just pass your
answer sheet attached with this guideline. Maintain cleanliness on your paper.
III. PROCEDURE
A. INTRODUCTION
The kidneys are considered the most important parts of the body. They get
rid of water and poisonous substances called urea. The urinary system consists of
the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and sphincter.
B. DISCUSSION
The excretory system plays an important role in maintaining balance in the
body through excretion. The different excretory organs are the skin, lungs, liver,
and kidneys. These organs receive their supply of blood from which they take the
waste materials that are excreted from the human body. To know the differences of
the four excretory organs, please read the discussion on pages 197-200.
C. APPLICATION
Answer the activity A under Assessment Activities on pages 205-206.
D. GENERALIZATION
Read and understand the key words under Knowledge/Insights on pages 203.
E. EVALUATION
Answer letter B, and C on pages 206-207 under Assessment Activities.
