National Heroes Day

Jamaica celebrates National Heroes Day on October 18. it's a holiday. Jamaica has seven
national heroes which are: Marcus Garvey, Paul Bogle, Sam Sharpe, Nanny, Norman
Manley, Gordon William George and Alexander Bustamante. On this day schools and offices
are closed and families spend time together, One of the ways in which they are paid tribute
is to put their faces in the local currency.

Reggae Sunsplash

It’s a reggae music festival originated in the north of


Jamaica, this festival was born in 1978, over the course
of time it’s became international famous and ended in
2006​. Took place in the beach, there the thousands of
spectators could camp during the three days of the
festival.
Bob marley birthday

Every February 6, the Caribbean country celebrates in style the birthday of its great
icon: Bob Marley. Robert Nesta Marley Booker, better known as Bob Marley, soon
became the best known and most respected performer in reggae music.

To commemorate his birth, for a week from February 1 to 6, the whole island is filled
with parties and celebrations; These include religious services in the Ethiopian
Orthodox Church, music concerts, readings, karaoke competitions, fashion shows,
films or exhibitions.
Junkanoo Festival

It is called Junkanoo due to the word inconnu which means "The Unknown" due to
the fact that most people parade with their faces painted or covered. This festival is
celebrated twice a year, on December 26 and on New Years, beginning at 2 a.m. or
clock and ending until dawn, it is celebrated to commemorate the three free days
that were given to slaves during Christmas.
