2020-2021: o Continue to engage in mentorship opportunities within Seattle University 2nd Year of and the SDA network SDA • Goal: Attend the virtual annual NASPA, ASCA, ACPA National Conference o Apply to be an intern for ASCA National Conference o Attend specific workshops and panels for graduating students • Goal: Expand my skills in the Technology competency area o Technology Knowledge Community • Goal: Grow in my knowledge in the Social Justice competency area o Engage in conversations with professionals about multicultural competency in relation to power, oppression, and privilege on campus, and continue to self-actualize my own identities and implicit biases. o Read Ebony and Ivy: Race, Slavery, and the Troubled History of America’s Universities (Wilder, 2003) Year 2 • Goal: Re-evaluate my 3-Year Action Plan and develop a 5-Year Action Plan 2021-2022: to allow for continued reflection on strengths and areas of growth 1st Year • Goal: Expand my professional network Post SDA o Attend the national conference for the functional area in which I am working o Volunteer on campus committees within the institution I am working in to create connections and collaborate with campus partners o Build meaningful relationships with professionals within the institution of my employment to establish mentors with similar salient identities o Continue to stay connected to Seattle University, my mentors, and the communities I established • Goal: Expand my knowledge in the Assessment, Evaluation & Research competency area o Join NASPA Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Knowledge Community • Goal: Expand my knowledge of the Social Justice competency area o Attend local diversity and inclusion trainings o Read The Campus Color Line: College Presidents and the Struggle for Black Freedom (Cole, 2020) Year 3 • Goal: Expand my skills in the Leadership competency area 2022-2023: o Join a committee for the regional conference related to my functional 2nd Year area Post SDA • Goal: Expand my knowledge in the Social Justice competency area o Attend a national diversity and inclusion training, such as the White Privilege Conference • Goal: Remain connected to Seattle University, mentors, and communities I established • Goal: Read at least three books that focus on the present and future of student affairs to ensure practices are in line with the current trends of higher education
