Hasil dan Kesimpulan
Urban farming has existed in many cities
throughout the world. It provides a valuable
complimentary farming activity to the urban
residents. It is time for urban farming to also
enjoy popularity in Malaysia. Further
researches are required to look at other
criteria of urban farming like sustainability
strategy and investment returns so that the
public as well as the authorities in Malaysia
can be convinced to implement urban farming
in their cities.
Reuse of wastewater in urban farming in
Katsina urban area is a practice that is not
only practiced as a fulltime and sole income
earner for many households, but an activity
that the town cannot do without. Being a city
located within a semi-arid setting, relying on
rainfed for successful promotion of urban
farming is certainly a risky enterprise. Thus,
resort to the reuse of wastewater that freely
flow in drains within the urban and peri urban
setting of the town is one of the readily
available options.

The research findings indicated the urban

farmers in the study participated in urban
farming because they expected resulting
social, health, environmental and economic
benefits. Thus, local authorities may be able
to contribute to increasing urban farming
participation by several initiatives including
an effort to publicise the benefits of urban
farming to both participants and non-
participants.
the scope and an initial agenda for a critical
geography of UA. I started this task with an
overview of the discourses currently used in
media and policy to describe the benefits of
UA. I then raised some doubts, questioned
these discourses and identified potential
exclusionary dynamics or hidden aims which
reveal how regressive and neoliberal agendas,
new forms of enclosures, or the reproduction
of social inequality can become real through
urban agricultural projects.

Participatory action research in which

researchers and community organizations
together develop research
protocols,gatherdata,analyzeitanddrawoutimpl
icationsis rare; yet sorely needed for
strengthening the theory, practices and
policies about UA. In particular, comparative
case studies that involve both researchers and
community practitioners in design, data
gathering and analysis, can begin to address
some of the social justice challenges faced in
UA settings.

Findings from the 17 city research, which

confirms and expands the previous study, can
be summarized as follows: the financing of
urban and peri-urban agriculture is a major
bottleneck in maintaining, expanding and
scaling up affordable, accessible food
production in cities. Governments, banks and
international aid agencies need to support
urban farmers all along the value chain.
The problem of the shrinking city offers a
fascinating variation on many of the themes
of land use law. For the past two hundred
years our expec tation has been growth, not
shrinkage, and our land use system has been
focused on how to manage expansion, rather
than decline. The regu latory system we have
developed is sufficiently flexible to handle the
challenge, but the shrinking city must pick its
way carefully, offering a documented and
persuasive case for each decision to restrict
future development.

This article deals with the impacts of this
sector on the landscapes, the consequences of
which can be found not only in the
ecosystems but also in the daily life of the
people, in their jobs, in the abandonment of
the land and in the change of mentality,

the overestimation of short-term economic

the urban consumer’s relationship with

supermarkets needs to be further explored.
Also, it is necessary to explore the attitudes of
urban consumers from other urban areas.

Looking at user comments regarding the

mainly grouped into four categories: interface

improving and updating agriculture resources
(perceived usefulness), access issues as

(facilitating factors).
the majority of extension workers reported
medium to high training needs in seven
specific areas: biodynamic farming, homa
farming, bio-rational pest management
techniques, biological methods of pest
control, bio-fertilizer technology, record
keeping/certification standards, and
grading/packing and marketing of organic
produce.
It is therefore recommended that the State and
Federal Governments should provide ICT-
enabling opportunities to extension personnel
in the State through provision of ICT
infrastructure, technical training and attitude
re-orientation in order to enhance the
performance of public extension personnel in
the area.
The findings suggest that the data dose not
fully support the proposed nine-predictors
multiple linear regression model. Finding was
contrary to the expectations, since human
development areas of competencies did not
contribute to the job performance.
the urban farmers in the study participated in

economic benefits. Thus, local authorities

Such systems then should be scaled up given
their capacity for producing enough food
while providing ecosystem services within the
climatic, energetic, ecological and economic
limitations of the next two decades or so.
Habitat type was important in determining the
rate of movement for long-tailed weasels.
Weasels moved at slower rates through
corridors and forest patches compared to crop
fields presumably because the latter offered
few prey resources and a high risk of
predation.
Role of extension worker was very poor and
there is a need to strengthen extension worker
services in the area and necessary facilities
should be provided to the extension worker to
carry out their work properly .

Administration should conduct a periodic

needs assessment to determine the level of job
satisfaction of personnel and identify methods
for increasing satisfaction based on these
findings
Understanding common physical and spatial
characteristics of land converted to
mechanized agriculture is a critical first step
in projecting the likelihood of landuse
conversion in other areas. In this study, we
assess several such characteristics as being
correlated with expansion of mechanized
agriculture.

population segment were more or less equal.
Especially some children only know the
knowledge from textbook, some even don't
know where those fruits and vegetables come
from. It is important to let children together
with adults witness the changes of crop
production cycle, use the farming tools, pay
labor and enjoy the harvest. All that labor
education will help the children's healthy
growth.
The tractor represented a grand

and in the process creating new opportunities
and de stroying old ways of doing business.
By focusing almost exclusively on questions
dealing with the timing of diffusion, much of
the existing eco nomic history literature has
ignored other, more fundamental questions.
However it is argued that it is essential for
investigators to appreciate the special nature
of this information before 'making
interpretations or comparisons with other
types of heat island data. Satellite-derived
data are surface radiant temperatures of only
those surfaces seen by the radiometer and
after it has been averaged across the area of a
pixel.
These are the most interesting challenges to

Improved and verified remote control sensing
operations are promising tools today and will
perhaps in future be able to provide the
necessary information about plant growth.
Extension workers play a vital role for
success of the sustainable agricultural
program. In other words the success of
sustainable agricultural program depends to a
large extend on training and education of
farm producers by extension workers.

If agricultural extension is to contribute

significantly to the agricultural development

reasons.
Urban agriculture planning and policy making
