Post-Secondary Interest Reflection

One of my biggest goals is to go to the college of my dreams after high school. I

researched three colleges I had in mind of going to and compared them. Researching really made

me pick the best college decision for myself, and my career choice. My three college choices

were Kennesaw State, University of Georgia or Georgia State. I looked into the location,

expenses and the best health care programs for myself, and eventually picked Georgia State as

the college I want to go to.

I chose Georgia State because it had one of the best nursing programs in Georgia. My

career goal is in the medical field, therefore a college with a great nursing program is the first

important detail to look at for colleges. UGA was also a great college with a great program, but

another important factor for choosing my college was the location. I wanted my college to be a

drive, but I want to be able to drive back home anytime of the week. UGA was the furthest drive

which ultimately made my choice change on going there. Georgia state was the second furthest

and Kennesaw was the closest. However, Kennesaw did not have the best nursing programs

which did not suite the best decision for my career choice. Expenses was also an important factor

for theses colleges. UGA had the most expenses and expensive tuition, and Georgia state was a

decent amount, especially with everything else that persuading me in choosing Georgia State.

One of my short-term goals in high school is to meet every requirement for Georgia

State. I want and expect nothing less than getting accepted to this college. I will continuously

push myself to accomplish every goal I have to get me to where I want to be after high school.

Going to Georgia state will be the biggest part of my life goals. Meeting this will lead me to

getting my associates degree and getting certified as a Sonographer. These goals will never be

easy, but it will always be worth it in the end.
