What is the relationship between language and context?

One of the most important ways in which we understand what people mean
when they communicate is by context, where, when, how and to whom it is
addressed.

When we talk about discourse, we are always talking about language; it is

always situated in at least four forms.

First, language is located within the material world, and where we find it, it can
be in books, the internet, etc. Second, language is situated within relationships,
one of the main ways in which we understand what people are referring to when
they talk about who they are and the role they play in our environment. Thirdly,
we can find it in everything that has happened some time ago and what
happened and finally it is found in everything we say and write, because it is like
a set of speeches.

Discourse is not situated by those who speak or write but also those who speak
and write are situated by discourse, for example every time people speak or
write, they are, through their discourse, demonstrating in some way who they
are and which it is your relationship with other people.

The discourse changes according to the context, it is not the same way in which
we express ourselves while we are in a family gathering as we speak when we
are with friends, the environment of the place and other factors such as the way
of dressing, in the same way writing is very different from the expressions used
for a job or something related to school than writing to family and friends.

In other words, language alone cannot accomplish all the things that it takes to
be a certain type of person. There is always a tendency to combine that
language with other things such as fashion, gestures and the handling of
various types of objects.

In conclusion discourse analysis looks at conversations in their social context,

melds linguistics and sociology by taking into account the social and cultural
context that language is used, it can be used by businesses, academic
researchers, or the government, any person or organization that wants to better
understand an aspect of communication.
