Lawmaking:
Article 1 of the constitution says that " All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a congress
of the united states, which shall consist of a senate and house of representatives".
Senators and reps must vote yes or no to a propose made for new federal laws.
The proposals are called bills
Voting on bills must take place in Washington DC.
Senators call out in favor or not in favor of the proposal and are counted one by one
In the house the voting is done by a button selection and the results are instantly recorded
The laws must be in touch with the constituents [people in the congress]
Lobbyist are sent to shift the congress man/woman or reps views to either vote for or against the law.

common interest or concern.
