I did many things to grow my account. One of the most beneficial things
I did was stay active on my account. I would constantly comment on
other creators' posts, join live streams, reach out to creators on
ot e c eato s posts, jo e st ea s, eac out to c eato s o
different social mediums such as Instagram. By doing this, I was
getting my name known. Additionally, when people would like my
videos but did not follow me, I would go to their profile page and like up
their posts. Other things I did was join engagement groups, and create
content that my followers would enjoy.
Tips that I have for other creators is to create a platform that is unique.
You need to show the users of TikTok why YOU are different from the
rest and why they should follow you. Think, what can you bring to the
table that they cannot already find on the app? Create series,
questions and answers, take a trend and make something different, etc.
Additionally, I find it vital to note that you should never stray away from
the types of videos that make you happy to create. For a while I was
solely focused on the type of content that would get the most views,
and while this was exciting, I was not creating the comedy I believed in.
Stay true to yourself and finding the line between this is very important.
Don't get bogged down if a video doesn't do well, it happens to the best
of us. Don't let those numbers define you. Go based on facts. Do your
research into when your followers are most active and use that to your
advantage. If you find you have a video that picks up slight traction, run
with that and see where it takes you!
