Annotated Bibliography

Alten, J. (2007). Adobe Photoshop CS3 classroom in a book: The official training

workbook from Adobe Systems. San Jose, CA: Adobe.

This book is about photoshop and how to use the software to create clear and

manipulated images. The book explains how to use each tool in the program effectively and how to get

proper results. It goes into detail about each tool and when to use them to create the look that is wanted.

The author's purpose is to explain to new users of photoshop how to properly use the software. This

source is reliable because Adobe created it as a guide to learn how to use their photoshop software. The

book was very helpful in my research about my chosen artifact for this project because it helped me better

understand the software, how to use it and how to help explain to others how to use it and what it is for.

Eskilson, S. J. (2012). Graphic Design: A New History. New Haven, CT: Yale University Press.

This book talks about the history of graphic design throughout the years starting from the

late nineteenth century. It describes how graphic design has changed and evolved over time with the help

of technology and social change. The book goes into detail about how graphic design has changed from

the beginning along with throughout wars and art styles based on artists in each era. Typography is also

talked about in the book and its part in the world of graphic design. This book was very helpful in

research learning about the origins of graphic design and typography and the evolution of each and how

they intertwine.

I used this website because it explains the basic graphic design breakdown and

guidelines. It talks about what graphic design is, the basics of it, the different types of graphic

design, different jobs and the tools designers use to create their artwork. It helped me understand

more about the field and how to simplify the explanation of graphic design in order to use less

words and more images in my infographic. I would recommend this website to anyone who

wanted to learn more about graphic design in detail and how to approach it as a career. I found

this website to be very helpful and interesting to read.

Norman, D. A., Rosenberg, D., Christensen, C., & Spillers, F. (2002). What is User Interface

Design? Retrieved September 12, 2020, from https://www.interaction-design.org/literature/topics/ui-

design

I used this website to learn more about user interface design in order to add it to my

infographic and learn how graphic designers incorporate it into creating their designs and softwares. I

found this website to be very helpful in understanding what user interface design is and how to design and

use it. I wanted to learn more about this program because I included user interface design and user

experience design into my infographic. This website was very clear and detailed about interface design

and the software and process designers go through. I would recommend this website to anyone in the

graphic design field or anyone that wanted to learn more about it for their own benefit.
