Every organization has a manager. A manager is someone who is responsible for accomplishing
the organization's goals, and who does so by managing the efforts of the organization's people.

Planning is about establishing standards, goals, and plans. In organizing, managers give tasks to
others, establish channels of communication. In staffing, managers determine who should be
hired, and how to measure performance. In leading, they motivate employees and in Controlling,
they set standards and compare the performances with those standards.
With these techniques Human recourse managers can avoid a number of mistakes to run the
organization smoothly such as committing any unfair labor practices, experience high turnover,
to have your company in court due to discriminatory action, hiring the wrong person, have your
employees not doing their best, to have your company cited for unsafe practices, to let a lack of
training undermine your department's performance. Therefore, it is important to find the right
employees and keep them in the organization in the long run. A better management of employees
will eventually help in improving the overall performance of the organization.

Managers can either have line authority or staff authority. With line authority, the managers are
authorized to direct the work of employees and are also responsible for accomplishing the tasks
of the organization. However, in staff authority, the managers get a right to advise other
employees or managers. Line managers have to fulfill multiple duties of human resource
managers. They place the person in the right job, interpret the company's policies and
procedures, control labor costs, develop abilities of employees, create and maintain departmental
morale, protect employees' health and safety, orient and train employees, improve employees' job
performance, gain creative cooperation, and develop smooth working relationships.
The managers can also understand the trends in demographics, labor, technology labor force, and
economy and handle their employees accordingly. By following all the techniques of human
resource management, the managers can handle their employees and meet the long term goals of
the organization.
