A WINNER AND A FIGHTER!

AGT magazine is in North Carolina (USA) to talk with Tyler Butler-Figueroa and know more
1
about him. He’s an 11-year-old student and an America’s Got Talent brilliant contestant .
Here’s a bit of the interview:
INTERVIEWER: So, Tyler, you’re a student in Belmont Community School… How is it there?
5 TYLER: Well, it’s great! My school is very big and modern. There are about 60 rooms and 6 sports
fields. There’s also a nice canteen where I usually have lunch with my best friend. Next to it is
one of my favourite spots: the assembly hall.
INTERVIEWER: Why is it one of your favourite places?
TYLER: Because my schoolmates and I always listen to music or play chess there. Well, I love going
10 to the playground, too, because I can play my violin and relax under the trees. It’s magical, you
know?
INTERVIEWER: A special school, then…
TYLER: Yes, definitely! My school is the best! The teachers are great!
INTERVIEWER: I know that you’re very good at maths and fond of science…, but your favourite
15 subject is music, of course…
TYLER: Yeah! That’s right! I love playing the violin! To learn more about it and practise for the
auditions, I go to the Music Club after school and I have instrument lessons, too. I feel like I’m
on another planet when I play!
Interviewer: Thanks, Tyler! Congratulations! You’re a real hero!
