Write an interesting paragraph (part of a short story) of about 100 words which

starts with “I was in a great dilemma after I had received the news.” [10]

‘Marriage is a life-long commitment’. How far is this a reality in today’s world? [10]

Write one paragraph of about 125 words on any ONE of the following topics. [10]

(i) You should indicate clearly the main idea of your paragraph and

(ii) Start with a topic sentence that you clearly underline.

a. Assess the view that life was better in the days of your grandparents.

b. It is more important to learn a foreign language like English than to study the local

languages. How far do you agree?

c. Alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs should be encouraged. How far do you agree

with this statement?

d. Science fiction films no longer appeal to the new generation. How far do you

agree?

e. We are slowly moving towards the end of the world. How far do you agree with
