1 General

1.1 Scope

This document summarise the basic design data and requirements


limited to Piping for Front End Phase of Zubair Oil Field Development
Project. This document shall be read in conjunction with document
00250600BGSG09000 “Basic Engineering Design Data” that gives
cross-reference to other Design Data for each discipline.

2 Codes and Standards

2.1 General

The Piping design shall be in accordance with the latest revisions of


the following specifications, codes and standards.

Where national Iraqi regulations, codes and standards exist, their


recommendations shall always apply. Such national regulations shall
therefore supplement or amend the provisions of this document.

2.2 Order of precedence

In the event of any conflict between this specification and the


documents listed herein, the decreasing order of precedence shall
be:

1. Rules and Regulations (local and applicable international)


2. COMPANY’s project technical specifications
3. COMPANY’s general/functional specifications
4. Codes and Standards.

CONTRACTOR shall strictly comply with the more stringent


applicable Rules and Regulations (local and applicable international)
even though this is not clearly specified in COMPANY’s documents.
Any conflict shall always be duly reported to the COMPANY who will
have the right to clear the conflict case by case without any obligation
toward any CONTRACTOR, SUBCONTRACTOR of VENDOR.

2.4 Company Authority Standards

Company Piping Standards applicable for Zubair Project shall be as

Practice”, section 3.2

2.5 International Codes, Standards and Regulations

As a minimum, the piping design shall be in accordance with the


relevant sections of the latest editions of the International Codes and
Standards.
Codes and Standards used for this project shall be the latest
revisions including all addenda available at the time of Contract
Award.

5 PLANT LAYOUT AND PIPING DESIGN

5.1 Plant Layout

5.1.1 General Arrangement

5.1.2 Functional blocks have to be arranged keeping into account the


following constraints (i.e.: minimum and maximum lengths of
connections, difference in elevations, plant elevations, location of the
equipment, functionality sequences, etc.):

process/ layout requirements.
