2– Overall Aim of Course to provide undergraduate nursing students with the theoretical knowledge and
skills required to care competently and safely for seriously ill patients or injured victims in emergency
situations or disasters. It focuses on the application of an accurate assessment and provision of emergency
nursing care according to the priorities. This course also emphasizes on providing students with critical
thinking, clinical judgment, problem solving and team working skills

3 – Intended Learning Outcomes of Course (ILOs)At the end of this course, students will be able to:
a1 describe the physical and psychological needs of the emergency patient/family, and
health care personnel.
a2 tell the scope of emergency care nursing practice.
a3 differentiate between primary , secondary and ongoing assessment
a4 recognize the different types of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) .
