OBJECTIVE
My objective is to deliver strong, factual, ethical journalism through a variety of platforms to those living
in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys. I am seeking a position as a multimedia journalist, as I have
experience reporting a variety of stories. I am looking to gain more experience and fine-tune my skills
while also contributing to the news environment in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys.

I have written a variety of stories, including features, news and editorials. I also have experience using
recording equipment. I have works published and broadcast. I am also very thorough when editing print
stories and broadcast scripts for structure and AP errors.

WORK EXPERIENCE

News Editor, Reporter and Line Producer

News Editor ~​ In this position, I read each story published by the newspaper each week. In these
readings, I make corrections to structure, Associated Press errors and other mistakes. I am also in charge
of assigning stories to the multimedia journalists as well as ensuring they are on track to meet deadlines. I
assist them if there are any issues and offer solutions and suggestions when possible. By establishing
rapport, I have been able to establish a friendly relationship with each journalist, making them
comfortable when approaching me with an issue.
Multimedia Reporter ~​ In this position, I am responsible for collecting research, interviews and
multimedia components for each story written. I have used recording equipment to obtain video footage
and am well experienced in using a variety of online video conferencing software to obtain interviews. I
have also cultivated sources within the Youngstown State University campus and community.
Line Producer ~​ In this position, I am responsible for editing each broadcast script to appear in the
broadcast news show each week. I make appropriate edits to structure, timing and AP style usage.

LEADERSHIP ROLES
Fall 2019 ~ Spring 2020
Penguin Positivity In this position, I was responsible for taking
Committee attendance at meetings, as well as compiling
Secretary meeting minutes to distribute to members
afterwards. I also monitored the Positivity
Boards around campus to ensure no negative
or prohibited messages were present.

Fall 2018 Honors College In this position, I promoted the advantages

Ambassador of joining YSU’s Honors College
to a local high school. This included
answering questions and listing personal
experiences.
