URINALYSIS
DATE: OCTOBER 1,2018

TEST RESULT REF.VALUE IMPLICATION

Color Yellow Amber-yellow NORMAL
Transparency Hazy Clear INCREASED
Specific Gravity 1.020 1.010-1.025 NORMAL
pH 6 4.8-7.8 NORMAL
 Urine may appear hazy due to presence of pus cells and can also be a sign of
urinary tract infection.

DIFFERENTIAL COUNT
TEST RESULT REF.VALUE IMPLICATION
Pus Cell 50.100/hpf 1-4/hpf INCREASED
RBC 25-50/hpf 0-3/hpf INCREASED
Epithelial Rare 1-4/hpf NORMAL
Mucus threads Few 0-3/hpf INCREASED
Bacteria Few 1-4/hpf INCREASED
SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION:

 Pus cell- Excess white blood cells or pus are present in urine.
 RBC- Presence of red blood cells in urine is called hematuria. It is a result of
an inflammation, injury to the urinary tract or kidney stones.
 Mucus threads- Ribbon-like threads secreted by glands in the lower urinary
tract. The epithelium is disrupted by the bacteria and as a result, it’s shed off,
causing the occurrence of mucus threads in urine.
 Bacteria- the presence of bacteria in the urine indicates an infection of
urinary tract ,bladder or kidney.

Color Yellow Amber-yellow NORMAL
Transparency Clear Clear NORMAL
Specific Gravity 1.010 1.010-1.0254.8-7.8 DECREASE
Ph 6.5 4.8-7.8 NORMAL
SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION:

 Low specific gravity (1.000–1.010) may occur in patients with renal problems
such as renal damage, glomerulonephritis and diabetes insipidus.

Pus Cell 1-3/hpf 1-4/hpf NORMAL
RBC 0-2/hpf 0-3/hpf NORMAL
EPITHELIAL Few NORMAL
BACTERIA Few INCREASE
SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION:

 Bacteria- the presence of bacteria in the urine indicates an infection of

urinary tract ,bladder or kidney.

KUB X-RAY
Shows presence of calculi and/or anatomical changes in the area of the kidneys or
along the course of the ureter.
SONOGRAPHIC REPORT:
The right kidney measures 10.53x4.69 cm with cortical thickness of 1.08cm.
The left kidney measures 10.46x3.21cm with cortical thickness of 1.28cm.
There is mild dilatation of the right renal pelvis and proximal ureter. There is an
approximate 4mm stone in the right midpelvis which in the proximal right ureter.
Severe hydro nephrosis of the right kidney.
The proximal 3rd of the right ureter is significantly distended.
The left kidney is normal in size, echogenicity and cortical thickness.
IMPRESSION:
 Moderate obstruction of the right kidney secondary to a proximal right ureteral
stone measuring approximately 4mm.
